I’m justified, but I still have the same sort of a tendency.”

No, you were justified, but you were also washed and sanctified, changed, separated in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and that work is done by the Spirit of our God.

Hard truth for Christians, but one we need reminding of--if you find yourself crying on the Internet over the supposed detention of a 5 year old by ICE or the death of a protester, did you find yourself crying over Laken Riley and Molly Tibbetts?

Did you cry over the 1.2 MILLION babies aborted in America last year?

Did tears fall over the 300,000 children that went missing under the Biden admin and likely were sold into human trafficking?

Do you cry over the infants that are raped to death by the cartels and violent gangs at our Southern border?

Did you cry when Charlie Kirk was assassinated mere seconds after defending the gospel?

Moral consistency is SO IMPORTANT to our faith. OF COURSE we should be outraged over the loss of life--we are all created in the image of God. But if you're lacking the conviction to be consistently outraged even when it's not politically convenient to you, it's time to ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom.

It’s 2020 all over again. Well-meaning Christian women are being duped by emotionally evocative messaging and images on Instagram.

If you’re not in this female demographic, you have no idea how strong this strategic propaganda campaign is. The pressure to repost social justice talking points to signal that you’re a good, empathetic person.

Mindlessly repeating the narrative is rewarded, while critically thinking —especially out loud —is punished venomously by friends, followers, and family members who will shame you for lacking compassion.

Even women who call themselves conservative Christians are echoing the perspective of left-wing outlets, insisting that Trump is going too far in his immigration enforcement.

It’s like they don’t remember that these are the very same outlets who lied to us about George Floyd, COVID, and pro-life laws.

It’s good to have compassion. We should always feel sad about loss of life. But we cannot allow our compassion to suspend sound judgment.

Women, we have the ability to use discernment and think clearly. We do not have to use emotion to make important policy decisions. Don’t be swept up by this campaign targeting us. Use your mind, ask smart questions, and stand strong

The gospel is not a call for us to try harder to be like Jesus in our own strength. The gospel is the good news that Jesus was strong for you. He stayed awake for you. He prayed for you. He submitted for you. He faced the cup of God’s wrath that you deserved, and he did not flinch. His perfect, trust-fueled response to the hour of darkness is not first and foremost an example to imitate, but a victory to be received. His success is the only ground for our hope.
