@AlexionLFC Because szobo has been so good this game right? Him and araujo have been terrible getting the ball forward. Szobo is a rb not a midfielder and definitely not a 10
@seanward94@OneSGW Frimpong rarely gets 1v1 with a left back compared to the amount of time he gets forward and underlaps for Salah. Its quite clear that the manager wants the fullbacks deeper and inside to keep everything tight and let the wingers hold the width, weve been doing it every game.
@seanward94@OneSGW He should but doesnβt because heβs been told not to, the same thing happens on the other side of the pitch. The manager is scared of anything related to risk which is why we play so slow and boring.
@seanward94@OneSGW He runs into space. The problem is
1: hes told to Underlap for fucking Gakpo to hold the width.
2: we play so slow we dont make use of the empty space anywhere on the pitch.
3: if he does occasionally get the chance to overlap he doesnβt even get it.
@seanward94@OneSGW Kerkez was great as a left back allowed to bomb up the left side and play on instinct instead of this slow, risk free shite we play now. Watch how he played at Bournemouth compared to now, hes been told to do the opposite of what heβs actually good at. Brighton goal showed that.
@seanward94@OneSGW Kerkez and frimpong are proper wing backs. Wirtz and Ekitike in the pockets around Isak, it would prolong VVD at the top level. Would be very similar to Conte 343 with Wirtz in the Hazard role. His only consistent runners in behind were the wingbacks.
@OneSGW@seanward94 Yes and no. It does make recruitment difficult but we already have the players for the difficult areas. Wing backs, middle CB and forwards are awkward for 343 but we already have them. Alonsoβs 343 until VVD retires or leaves would be ideal imo.
@seanward94@OneSGW Why is everyone so against 3 at the back btw? It can work in the premier league especially if the standard of play keeps dropping like it has the last 12 months.
@seanward94@OneSGW Point is i believe majority of our key players would improve in this system. IF he decides to play 3 at the back. He was doing well at madrid playing 433/4231. 2nd season at Leverkusen he shifted between 343/4231 mostly and occasionally 433 or even 352 so it shows heβs versatile.
@seanward94@OneSGW In possession its the exact same system as Alonsoβs 3 at the back in his invincible season. Tah played the middle of the 3 and in possession heβd step up and create 2 triangles between the remaining 2 CBs and the 2 midfielders. Just like Fabinho did on occasions.
@seanward94@OneSGW No Fabinho before he fell off dropped between the CBs or played on the right of a back 3 loads depending on who we played and who was playing in midfield alongside him.
Wasnt possible anymore when Fabinho fell off a cliff.
@OneSGW@seanward94 We never specifically started in it but Fabinho dropped between the CBs and formed a back 3 while TAA and Robbo held the width as wing backs for periods of time.
Klopp did it depending on the opposition and his choice of midfielders. Fabinho was key to this.
@OneSGW@sambadude Kerkez was a flying wing back for bournemouth and was great.
VVD plays in a back 3 for Holland, it would allow him to play at the highest level for a longer period of time (ie thiago silva)
Isak/Salah wouldnβt be isolated as theyβd be way closer to goal and easier to link play.
@seanward94@OneSGW 1. He has had success with 433/4231, isnβt limited to 343.
2. You do realise we have played the same 343 system under klopp for a few spells from 2019 to 2021.
@sambadude@OneSGW No its because even if he did shift to his 343 (he played 433 and 4231 in germany and madrid with success btw) our key players would benefit greatly. Wirtz VVD Frimpong Kerkez and Isak would thrive in his 343. Salah too but sadly we wont get to see that because of Hughes/Edwards.
@_lfcleanne Too wasteful makes it sound like we created a good amount of proper chances, Nunez was wasteful because he would miss good chances. We barely created anything and didnt score because of it. Simple
