@REM_CUBoulder Hello. I am a graduate student in an intro course on research and evaluation. How do research and evaluation co-exist in a classroom setting for both students and teachers? How might I incorporate research and evaluation in guiding students through science fair?
Forces and Motion unit entry event day in science 8. Can’t let the students have all the fun. Roller skates+project zero thinking routines= ENGAGED kids. @JeffersonIBMYP @APSGifted
“Each and every child deserves an education that meets their needs and enhances their futures, and advanced students are no different. They have their own legitimate claim on our conscience, our sense of fairness, our policy priorities, and our education budgets” @educationgadfly
What it looks like to co-teach and differentiate with Mr. Gladney. Half the class analyzes the causes and effects of the Revolutionary War, the other half does a DBQ and analyzes who the war was revolutionary for. 👌🏻@JeffersonIBMYP @APSGifted
The Jefferson gifted info session will be 10/18 from 7-7:45 on Microsoft teams. We will cover the APS gifted services model, differentiation practices, and how these play out during class for advanced students. The link to join is below. @JeffersonIBMYP

TJMS girls soccer has begun! Tallest to smallest pic…yup that’s our starting 6th grade goalie. Don’t worry, she slays! Come watch us play our first home game on Tuesday 9/27. @JeffersonIBMYP
Mrs. Beyers is feelin the love from TJMS parents! She’s received books from three parents so far. Love the support we get from parents at TJMS. @APS_ELA@JeffersonIBMYP
6th grade reading took lit circles to the next level with Question Formulation Technique (QFT) With QFT students write their own questions, taking complete control of the conversation. @JeffersonIBMYP @APSGifted
Not kidding - these 6th graders discussed literature for 30 mn straight. No interruptions from teachers, no awkward silences, and everyone participated. Teachers set high expectations and kids delivered. @APSGifted @JeffersonIBMYP@MsMannELA
I love when teachers use a real world issue as a lens to a unit. 7th grade science students listened to planet money and used philosophical chairs to dialogue about genes, patents, intellectual property, and scientific research. @APSGifted @JeffersonIBMYP @APSscience
My office smells like new books! Jefferson 7th graders will be reading Freewater, by local Arlington author @AminaLuqman This new book has it all and we are beyond excited for our kids to experience this novel. @APSGifted @JeffersonIBMYP@MrAndersonELA@MrsBennettELA
