@reopened3008 @F_Duck1 Once Kimi came up behind Max it had already been a few laps between him and George fighting, and the way the Redbull is with its tires it made no sense to keep fighting the Mercs at that point if it meant that he would lose to not only to the leader but to those behind him too.

@reopened3008 @F_Duck1 Max fought George because George wasn't quick enough to pull away from him. Even when Max was fighting George, Kimi was still fighting the McL and the Ferrari. When George was ahead of Max, Max still had pace to reovertake him.

@reopened3008 @F_Duck1 If Max fought kimi he would've lost time to George and also would've allowed Lewis and Oscar to gain on him. The better decision was letting the Mercs fight staying within a second, pulling a gap to P4 and P5 then hoping the Mercs collide if they continued fighting.
