@mikekadlick They have a draft pick in every round, 2 in the sixth. They’re going to trade 34 for a guy they also have to give the bag to? Doesn’t sound like Eliot Wolf.
@mikekadlick I came here to tell you to please stop & that this isn’t anywhere near realistic, but I see the comment section in its entirety beat me to it.
@JosinaAnderson Being that they already have Devante & Juju, I’d say they’ll bring Bourne back and draft a guy. I’m not convinced they’d heavily pursue Ridley.
@OGBOOGY_@JosinaAnderson I 💜 Bourne, I’ll admit I’m hesitant to commit to him at 29 coming off an ACL tear. Parker ranked dead last in separation the last 3 seasons, wonder if he has any value. He has one year left on his deal after ‘24, & a more promising player in Jeudy just got dealt for a 5 & a 6.
@augustmourning@CheyenneSulli14@JosinaAnderson Yeah, New England doesn’t have assets. Is a package centered around the 34th pick enough? You’d have to give up multiple picks this year and/or next, and pay Aiyuk WR1 💰 And Eliot Wolf has been candid about desire to build through draft. Love BA, wouldn’t hold my breath.
@CheyenneSulli14@augustmourning@JosinaAnderson It’s not a bad strategy at all. I wouldn’t be super thrilled about paying Gabe Davis or Calvin Ridley. Go get a Danielle Hunter/Justin Simmons in FA & then your tackle, receiver, QB to develop in the draft.
@mkharrell98@JosinaAnderson I’m all for it, but Josina is mentioning that NE is interested in a veteran receiver. I think regardless of what they do in FA/trade, they should draft another receiver.
@JosinaAnderson Hoping they get creative & find a way to:
Upgrade at WR/T/QB.
Add an impact defensive player.
Acquire more draft picks for this and next year’s class. Not enough picks, not enough impact players currently on the roster or realistic FA options.
@JosinaAnderson Being that they already have Devante & Juju, I’d say they’ll bring Bourne back and draft a guy. I’m not convinced they’d heavily pursue Ridley.
@mkharrell98@JosinaAnderson Truly, I’d be happy if they entirely reworked the receiver position. But if they move both DP and Juju, then you have Pop Douglas and not much else at WR.
@CheyenneSulli14@JosinaAnderson yeah, they have a ton of money in a lackluster FA class. All of the guys you’d like to pursue (Higgins, Pittman) are gone. Not convinced they have the assets to swing a move for a guy like Aiyuk.
@domalunni@JosinaAnderson The take isn’t that DP & Juju are good enough to not warrant pursuing other WR’s, the take is that I don’t think they’ll significantly upgrade WR position through FA/trade. They dug their own grave when they extended DP and signed Juju to a multi year deal. Hope I’m wrong!
