A10 Too often we just grade/correct a paper and hand it back. There is no discussion about it. I can see where it would be more beneficial to go over how they did. What they got wrong, what they did well at. Kind of like we do for our post observation meetings. #newfchat

A9 Perseverance is something we talk a lot about in our room. No one is perfect. We all make mistakes, but we learn from our mistakes. Even adults make mistakes all the time. But we don't give up!! We keep trying! #newfchat

A8 Amanda, I agree. I find myself doing the same. Or if something went wonky with tech, I talk aloud...Lets try one more try, if not we will do something else. Its no big deal. Things happen. #newfchat

@abirch844 Me too. We occasionally will ask our students, "Why do you think this is important?" " How could you use this information?" But using this across topics is difficult at this age. Something we need to work harder on as teachers.

@abirch844 There are times that we won't correct the students. We will have them walk us all through their thinking and usually at that point, they can catch their own mistakes. Or we will let them pick a coach for help.
