India will not progress until people realize that what they call "absence of civic sense" among our people is basically the result of the caste system. Until that basic sickness is acknowledged and addressed collectively & correctively, our society will keep misdiagnosing itself.
The lesson Israel has learned, time and again, is that it can commit genocide and other atrocities with near-total impunity.
Now it's exporting the Gaza playbook to Lebanon.
Israel's war in Lebanon is killing thousands and displacing over a million.
NO MORE U.S. AID TO ISRAEL.
@avzaagzonunaada If you care very narrowly about linguistic documentation then yeah it's better but if you care about language death I'm not sure that missionaries are a net positive in that regard and are likely to be a net negative.
@avzaagzonunaada Whereas Protestant missionaries have had a massive leg up with evangelism being a core part of the ideology for centuries and being incorporated to some degree in the theory of control of incredibly wealthy Western colonial powers
@cobbaltt The kinds of bullshit people come up with to avoid even describing a single sentence in any language supposedly contained in this book is wild
@avzaagzonunaada I don't know that you should really be giving missionaries that much credit here. Think of the number of (endangered or more likely extinct) languages where the Bible is the *only* thing ever published in the language. That's the extent of their care.
