ZINARA in the Community: Transforming Lives in Rural areas
ZINARA continues to make a meaningful impact in rural communities, demonstrating that its role goes beyond road maintenance to uplifting lives. In Mberengwa District, the organisation handed over 318 dignity packs and 300 hygiene packs to learners at Chingoma High School, directly supporting the wellbeing of young people.
The initiative, driven by ZINARA employees under the We Care programme, ensures that both girls and boys benefit.
Girl learners received dignity packs, while the inclusion of hygiene packs for boys highlights a deliberate effort to support the boy child and promote health, confidence, and self-worth among all learners.
This outreach reflects ZINARA’s growing presence in rural areas, where access to basic necessities is generally limited.
It also builds on similar employee-led efforts in Matabeleland North, demonstrating a sustained commitment to improving the lives of communities across the country.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, ZINARA Board Vice Chair, Commissioner Felie Chikowero-Mjanga, underlined the importance of the initiative, noting that it goes beyond a symbolic gesture to restoring dignity, promoting confidence, and empowering learners, especially as it coincides with Women’s History Month.
ZINARA employees encouraged students to remain disciplined, stay focused on their education, and make responsible life choices, emphasising that such values are key to shaping a brighter future.
