Our TMF community is deeply saddened by the loss of the eight crew members who lost their lives in the B-52 crash at Edwards Air Force Base, California.
We pause to honor their service and sacrifice. Our thoughts are with their families, friends, fellow service members, and all those mourning this tragic loss.
Last week, more than 60 TMF volunteers came together in Bucks County, PA for an Operation Legacy service project honoring Marine Lance Cpl. Robert T. Mininger, who gave the ultimate sacrifice in 2005. Led by TMF volunteer Budd Hutchinson, volunteers planted trees at a veteran memorial dedicated to Robert's life and legacy.
We are thankful to the Mininger family, who traveled from Georgia to participate in the project, and to Pennridge High School for presenting Robert's framed school jersey, a meaningful reminder that the legacy of our fallen heroes lives on through the communities they continue to inspire.
Through service, remembrance, and community, we ensure the legacies of our nation's fallen heroes live on. #IfNotMeThenWho
Today we honor Maj. Paul R. Syverson III, U.S. Army Special Forces. 🇺🇸
Paul was a humble and selfless leader who always put his soldiers first. Before his final deployment, he volunteered to leave ahead of his teammates so that they could spend more time with their families, even though it meant time away from his own wife and newborn daughter and seven year old son.
He served with courage and distinction after 9/11, including multiple deployments and combat operations, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Special Forces Tab, and more. Despite his many honors, he remained deeply humble and often said he was “just doing his job.”
His wife, Jackie, continues to carry his legacy forward through TMF, keeping his story and commitment to service alive through her leadership and continued involvement. She has been a part of TMF's service expeditions, serves as a youth mentor, 9/11 Heroes Run Race Director, service project leader, and is a Spartan Leadership Program graduate. Each role reflecting her dedication to serving others and strengthening the community around her.
For 25 years, our country has carried the memory of 9/11 forward.
This September, communities across the country will come together once again to honor the first responders and all those who served in the years that followed.
Whether you run, walk, or ruck in person or virtually, every step helps ensure we never forget. Participants will receive the official 2026 Heroes Run shirt and earn a new finisher medal created in remembrance of this historic year.

Today we honor PO2 Matthew Monczynski, U.S. Navy. 🇺🇸
Matt served as aviation crew on the P-3 Orion aircraft during three deployments across his five years in the Navy. Beyond his service, he was known as the kind of person who made everyone around him feel seen, supported, and included. Whether cheering on a teammate during a PT test, staying late to help a coworker, or simply making people laugh with his contagious sense of humor, Matt embodied what it meant to leave no one behind.
His surviving wife, Renée, remembers him as someone who approached life with curiosity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to teamwork.
Today, Renée continues Matt’s legacy through TMF as a Character Does Matter mentor. Through mentoring the next generation and showing up in service alongside her community, she carries forward the same spirit of teamwork, encouragement, and compassion that Matt lived out every day. 🇺🇸

Last Saturday, TMF brought the Beaver Fit Trailer to Under Armour HQ to support Baltimore student-athletes as they prepared for the upcoming school year.
Veteran Mentors, Eric and Wendy, were on-site helping make the day a success as more than 800 student-athletes received school physicals, picked up gear, and got exactly what they need to take on the 2026–27 season strong. 🏈👟
This event was made possible through TMF’s Character Does Matter (CDM) program, powered by @UnderArmour Freedom, a partnership that helps us bring mentorship, access, and opportunity directly to the next generation.
This Women Veterans Day, we honor the women who have served our nation with courage, resilience, and unwavering dedication. 🇺🇸
From the front lines to their communities back home, women veterans continue to lead, serve, and inspire every day. At TMF, we are proud to stand alongside the women who have worn the uniform and the families who support them.
Today and every day, we thank you for your sacrifice, your strength, and your service. ❤️
This week @TMFoundation mobilized hundreds of veterans and families of fallen heroes in Philadelphia for a week of service honoring America's 250th anniversary. TMF President Amy Looney Heffernan joins @NewsNation to discuss how our country's veterans cement a lasting impact in their communities, embodying core American principles of freedom, patriotism, and service to others.
The work may be done, but the impact of this week will be felt for years to come. 🇺🇸
Today marked the third and final day in Philadelphia for the 10th annual Mass Deployment. We closed out this mission exactly how we started it by working as a team, leading by example, and honoring our nation's heroes through sweat and service. We didn't just build and restore physical spaces this week; we strengthened a community and came together as one big family.
None of this would be possible without the incredible dedication of our volunteers, veterans, and families of the fallen. Thank you for showing up, giving your all, and putting “If Not Me, Then Who…” into action.
Closing out Mass Deployment by tagging the trees planted in honor of our fallen heroes. 🇺🇸
Having so many family members here to help plant each tree made it even more meaningful.
Wood Street Park in Philly feels different now, in the best way. ❤️
If you’re in the area, stop by and scan the QR code to learn about these heroes.
One mission, one team.
Mass Deployment is what it looks like when hundreds of veterans, families of the fallen, and inspired civilians show up not just to serve, but to stand side by side as one community.
While many volunteers are meeting for the first time, they’ve showed up with nothing but good energy. 🙌
Day 2 of Mass Deployment at Wood Street Park in Old City, Philadelphia!
Volunteers are planting trees, clearing invasive ivy, and building new seating, garden beds, and play spaces to make this park more welcoming for the community.
This work wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers, and we’re grateful for every single one of them.
Today, hundreds of veterans, families of the fallen, and inspired civilians came together in Philadelphia to begin three days of service across the city’s parks as part of the 10th Mass Deployment. These men and women, who have already given so much to this country, continue to show up, to lead, and to serve because they know the power of community and what happens when we work together.
This year marks a new chapter as the Travis Manion Foundation carries this tradition forward, honoring a decade of impact and strengthening the mission through character, connection, and service.
We’re so excited to welcome hundreds of veterans, families of the fallen, and inspired civilian volunteers in Philadelphia this week for the 10th annual Mass Deployment: a multi-day, high-impact community service event.
Over the next three days, volunteers will transform public parks in the city, leaving a lasting legacy in local neighborhoods. 🇺🇸 #IfNotMeThenWho
