I don’t know Jacob personally, his dad is a total stud…but wow this video was awesome. Play other sports and learn other skill sets. Learn to love the work it takes to be great. So many great lessons every athlete should hear regardless of sport. Congrats Jacob

Johan Cruyff, when asked about his training methods in the Spanish press.
At the time, rondos and tight positional practices built around 4v4 + 3 were not nearly as common as they are today. Cruyff explained that in smaller spaces, players are forced to make quicker decisions and execute with cleaner technique under pressure.
His belief was simple: if you can think and play in tight spaces, the game becomes easier in bigger ones.
That idea helped shape the modern game and remains one of the clearest principles in player development today. Train in chaos, solve problems in pressure, and the bigger picture opens up on match day.
“If you train in a small space, you play better in a big one.”

The World Lives Here.
Canada is all together different. Truly unique. And so is our relationship to the beautiful game. This is our opening to the 2026 World Cup. Narrated by Kiefer Sutherland. #FIFAWorldCup
@chasmahoney@KaneLafranchise I’ll go further and suggest on our social feeds how many skills sessions involve zero passing, or pressure based reaction / decision-making? I think it’s an alarming amount. Time and place certainly. But should the majority be? Prob not. Should be the minority imho.
@chasmahoney@KaneLafranchise Nailed it. I think you can see it at the youth levels. I’ve had the chance to see early aged international hockey and there is a stark difference in the default team tactic of various countries even on teams brought together with no prior practice.
@erikwillander Our 3v3 game has been exposed for awhile now. Beyond that though what do you see as some of the main repeatable patterns in the Canadian Game that has been an issue for them in international play?

"Production over potential. There's something about that. The guy that can stay on the practice field, the guy that can stay on the game field, the guy can handle success, the guy that can handle failure, has consistency in performance, he's a good teammate, he buys in to the team vision & he can stay healthy."
"It's all about people. The people you hire and the people you recruit. You've got to hire and recruit the right kind of people. That have a foundation of habits, that understand right from wrong, that have passion, that love football, that want to be great, that want to learn and get better every single day. You got to have those kind of people in your organization & then create the environment where they can thrive."
