Salvation is a gift from Jesus Christ. There are no works we can do to earn that, no matter how many times trinitarians tell us otherwise. Exaltation is a deeper covenant relationship with Him and a willingness to follow Him in whatever He asks. It’s how we receive Him and put our trust in Him. Our obedience is a response to that relationship, because we have faith in Him, trust Him, and love Him.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@JasontheLayman So much nonsense here. You’re bad at this. Do better research.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

I definitely don’t think I need to earn my salvation if that’s what you’re saying. I know that’s a huge misconception we deal with. We don’t do works or actions to replace Jesus’ sacrifice. It’s already done. We do it because of our faith and allegiance to Him. It’s not attempt to earn salvation.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

Good thing it’s not doctrine or in our cannon. He connected this idea to his belief that planets could become celestial bodies of life. Things were said more openly and publicly back then.

Just remember, you believe a prophet who walked around naked for three years, a prophet that ate a scroll and said it tastes like honey, and a prophet that said his donkey talked to him.

Simply amazing! 😂

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla Just like the formulation of the Trinity is an inference.

Even if I were to resign from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today, I would still believe that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. I would still believe He walked on water, healed the blind, cleansed the lepers, suffered and died on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day.

I would still believe that salvation comes through Him, that He is my Lord and Savior, and that one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. He would still remain at the center of my life.

I would still believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, and that God is one and eternal. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has taught me these things.

So I genuinely want to understand: What is it that I believe that is so far from the truth? What am I missing? What specifically do I not believe that you think prevents me from being saved?

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

There is no exact passage just like there is no exact Bible passage about the Trinity, but there are examples like John 5:19 and about a dozen about being made in the image and likeness of God.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla Isaiah 40-48 is the broader context and isaiah 43:10 is a statement of supremacy or Incomparability.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

I’m saying the exhalation of the Father is similar to what Christ went through. Christ's exaltation is generally understood to have occurred through His resurrection, ascension, and enthronement at the Father's right hand, not when He first received a physical body, but having a physical body is part of the process.

Jesus is eternally divine and is everlasting to everlasting. His exaltation did not mean He became God or progressed to Godhood. Same with the Father.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla I’m sorry it didn’t work for you. It’s only benefitted me and my family.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla Or you can just tell me what you believe so I can also be saved since you’re the expert.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla We don’t think the Son became divine through progression. He is the Eternal God as mentioned on the title page of the Book of Mormon.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

I answered in the thread. Some LDS might think one way and others another way about the topic. The King Follet sermon and Jornal of Discourses are not doctrine and we are not bound by them. It’s not found in our canon and not what’s important. Evangelicals think this is the #1 item on our list, I’ve heard it discussed in church or by LDS leaders maybe 3 times in over 40 years and it was very vague.

Faith in Christ, repenting, spreading the Gospel, trying to be like Jesus, following the commandments, being a better husband, father, person, and many more things are more important, because if we can’t do those things, it wouldn’t matter anyway.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla Do you want to “be like Jesus?” That’s what I strive to do in my life.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

Once again, your research is bad. Read the King Follet or Journal of Discourses more carefully. It says:
“God himself was once as we are now, and is an exalted Man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens!”
It continues:
“God himself the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did.”
Then continues:
The scriptures inform us that Jesus said, as the Father hath power in himself, even so hath the Son power—to do what? Why, what the Father did. The answer is obvious—in a manner to lay down his body and take it up again. Jesus, what are you going to do? To lay down my life as my Father did, and take it up again.

He’s discussing resurrection at a funeral and is saying God the Father has a body and we are created after His image and likeness like it says in the Bible. It’s not saying he was a mortal sinful man who was a plummer or electrician or truck driver somewhere. It’s saying he performed the same or similar act to what Christ did, which is lay down His life and take it up again.

Joseph Smith wasn’t able to clarify anything after that because he was murdered by crazy Protestants.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla 2 Nephi 31:21
“And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen.”

This is the doctrine. Do better research.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla Also not true or doctrine. Research better.

[Tmoney$ @Tmoney33egg]

@ammosexualguy @PetGorilla No sir. Not what I believe and not doctrine of the church.
