They graduated only 1 player from last year's team & return a deep & talented sr class with @tierney_madigan (5'10"--14.2ppg, 6.4rpg, 3.3apg), @RooseveltWBB commit @aubreynleonard (5'8"--10.2ppg, 4.1apg, 3.0spg), @MinnStWBB commit @PaytonMorgan21 (5'9"--9.9ppg), @Eva_Engel3 (5'10"--8.1ppg), & @DuelMolly (5'7"--6.5ppg) as well as soph @Finley_Morgan03 (5'9"--9.5ppg). [Madigan, Payton Morgan, & Finley Morgan earned WBCW D4 All-State, while Leonard earned HM.]

Catholic Memorial (24-4, #1) fell in a sectional final to Kettle Moraine Lutheran (24-5, #6). They return 4 of their top 5 scorers, including srs @jennawelsch5 (5'10"--17.0ppg, 9.1rpg, 3.1spg) & @HallieKoltz (5'9"--6.8ppg), & jrs @sami_sarner (5'8"--8.6ppg) & @kelly_boinski (5'9"--10.4ppg). Oostburg, Kettle Moraine Lutheran, and Sheboygan Falls (see below) are all on the other half of their sectional. [Welsch earned WBCA D3 All-State.]

Oostburg (23-3, #5) dropped a 4-pt game in OT to Dominican (20-7) in a regional final, while Kettle Moraine Lutheran (24-5, #6) lost by 4 in a state semifinal to Xavier (22-8, #9). Both have solid cores returning & should get an immediate boost from an impact freshman. Oostburg returns their top 2 scorers in jr twin @gbphoenixwbb commits @ady_ketterhagen (5'10"--21.4ppg, 8.5rpg, 3.8apg, 4.1spg) & @rketty_hoops (5'9"--17.3ppg, 4.0apg), & will get their boost from their younger sister fr @KinsleyKetty10 (6'). KML also returns their top 2 scorers in srs @LewisWBBall commit @Kenzie_Luehring (5'5"--18.4ppg, 5.0rpg, 4.2apg, 5.4spg) & @WLC_WBB commit @leffelmd (5'9"--12.6ppg, 5.2rpg) as well as soph @Hayden_Lauer11 (5'6"--5.2ppg) as key contributors; they should get a boost from fr @BKLuehring (5'7"), while sophs Kennedy Thistle (5'4") & Mya Mayer (5'11") could provide some depth as potential newcomers to varsity. This could prove to be one of the most entertaining sectional semifinals in the state, if it materializes (Sheboygan Falls (23-3, #10) is a strong team in that half-sectional that just may have a say in things). [Ady Ketterhagen & Makenzie Luehring earned WBCA D3 All-State, while Riley Ketterhagen & Leffel earned HM.]

Xavier (@XavierHawksGBB )
Xavier (22-8, #9) finished as state runner-up last season after falling 3-pts short against Edgewood (27-3, #3). They lost 4 players to graduation all among their top 6 scorers, but will reload with a youth movement headlined by key rotation players fr @elle_krull (5'8"--10.7ppg) & soph @joy_krull (5'8"--6.3ppg), & supplemented by a group of talented sophs ready to step into larger roles, including @brynnkrull3 (5'8"--INJ last yr), @LaynaPetersen20 (6'2"), @annika_heimann (5'6"--2.7ppg), & @power_catie (5'5"--1.4ppg). Xavier will be on the opposite half of their sectional from Wittenberg-Birnamwood (see below). [Elle Krull earned WBCA D3 All-State HM.]

Sleepers:
Platteville (@plattevillesd )
Platteville (17-9) lost to Edgerton (25-2, #8) in a regional final. They return their top 5 scorers, including 3 double-digit scorers in sr Jaxcyn Berntgen (5'9"--11.0ppg, 7.3rpg), & sophs @averyrichard_1 (5'8"--13.2ppg, 5.1apg, 3.5spg) & Rianna Dye (6'2"--10.2ppg, 7.9rpg). They will once again share a half-sectional with Edgerton (see below), while Laconia resides in the other half.

Freedom (@FreedomGBB )
Freedom (19-8) lost to Wittenberg-Birnamwood (25-3) in a sectional semifinal. They graduated just 1 player & return their top 7 scorers, including srs @_HaleyRae__ (5'7"--9.2ppg), @gracie_martzahl (5'5"--8.8ppg), & WLC commit @abbiecropsey (6'--5.3pp, 7.0rpg). Reed will likely miss the beginning of the season due to injury, but youngsters such as jr @breanajdickrell (5'8"--2.6ppg), soph Mara Janssen (5'7"--0.4ppg), & fr Ava Calhoon (5'7") could step up to provide depth. Freedom once again shares a half-sectional with Witt-Birn.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood (@WBChargerSports )
Wittenberg-Birnamwood (25-3) lost to Xavier (22-8, #9) in a sectional final. They return their top 5 scorers, including their high-scoring jr tandem of Minnesota softball commit @rsalvesen34 (5'7"--20.8ppg, 3.2apg, 4.8spg) & @melaina42 (5'11"--17.5ppg, 10.5rpg, 3.0spg). Freedom will be a likely sectional semifinal opponent again this year. [Salvesen earned WBCA D3 HM.]

Young Guns Teams:
Edgerton (@edgertongirlsbb )
Edgerton (25-2, #8) lost to eventual state champion Edgewood (27-3, #3) in a sectional semifinal. They return 3 of their top 4 scorers, all underclassmen last year, in jrs @Graceelanger (5'11"--10.0ppg, 6.0rpg) & @martirebmann (5'8"--9.9ppg), & soph @Claudiaj_3 (5'5"--10.0ppg, 5.0rpg). They will once again share a half-sectional with Platteville, while Laconia is in the other half.

Lakeside Lutheran (12-14) lost to Waupun (24-4, #2) in a regional final. They return 3 of their top 4 scorers, highlighted by soph twins @PaigeTMur (5'8"--15.7ppg, 6.2rpg, 3.3apg) & @NadiaMurphy111 (5'10"--9.9ppg). They are in the same half-sectional as Laconia this year.
