NCAA Median ERA And BB/9 has gone from low point of 4.17 ERA and 3.57 BB/9 in 2014 to high point of 6.05 ERA and 4.68 BB/9 in 2025. The zones have undoubtably gotten smaller in the last few years for a multitude of reasons, trackman reports being one of them.

My question is, has the product of baseball gotten better as the zone has gotten smaller and we are throwing less strikes or should we make the plate bigger for better quality of games?

Everyone knows you go up in levels, the zone gets smaller, why not adjust the size of the plate? I think this would lead to a better quality of baseball games, and less need for "stuff in the zone" and a bigger emphasis on making quality pitches.
