What is bro talking about. I got into this series in my late teens and had no exposure to it growing up despite owning a PS2. This is just the "One Piece is too long" argument applied to KH and mixed in with a bit of insecurity about enjoying media that could be seen as corny.

The thing about Kingdom Hearts is that if you didn't get on the train in the 00's, then you simply are left behind. It is too corny to work without the context of operating in a world of myspace-era truthisms, and its thrills can be found in other franchises with less homework.
