It was great to have our second TOBIN Talk of the year today!
We were delighted to have Brian Gallagher, Technical Director in our Water & Utilities Division, deliver an engaging talk on ‘Sustainability in the Water Sector’ 💧
Brian’s presentation explored energy use in the water sector in Ireland, with a specific focus on Uisce Éireann Irish Water’s ambitious sustainability and energy efficiency policies, and the carbon intensity of their operations. It also highlighted the sustainability challenges associated with the Recast Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive.
A big thank you to Brian for sharing his expertise, and to everyone who attended!

Some of @TOBINengineers Environment and Planning team enjoyed a day out recently on a Dublin Bay cruise from Dún Laoghaire to Howth. The team spent a couple of hours in Howth exploring the area, grabbing food, and enjoying the seaside before heading back to Dún Laoghaire. Thankfully, the weather also played its part - making a day by the sea even more enjoyable! ☀️
Days like this are an important reminder of the value of connection and teamwork. Taking time to socialise outside of work helps strengthen relationships across the team, encourages collaboration, and gives everyone the well-deserved chance to recharge and unwind together.

☀️ Workplace Wellbeing Week at TOBIN ☀️
April 29th was National Workplace Wellbeing Day, and this year’s theme was ‘Belonging’.
To celebrate, we hosted a week of activities across our TOBIN offices, focusing on simple yet meaningful ways to support our teams’ health and wellbeing.
We kicked off Monday with an introduction to the week ahead, setting the tone for the activities to come.
Tuesday was all about movement, with each office taking part in a steps challenge - well done to all our winners across the offices!
On Wednesday, we focused on sleep, with resources shared to highlight its importance. Our team was also reminded of the supports available through our Employee Assistance Programme, Spectrum Life, including sleep meditations, courses, and sound baths.
Thursday centred on hydration. Reusable water bottles were provided, hydration reminders were placed around the offices, and electrolyte sachets were available for anyone needing an extra boost.
We wrapped up the week on Friday with team lunches in each office - a great opportunity for colleagues to connect, reflect, and recharge together.
A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the week such a success!
