11 years ago today, Southend United booked their place at Wembley with a huge 3-1 win over Stevenage FC at Roots Hall in the League Two Play-Off Semi Final (4-2 aggregate) 🦐
And now… we head back under the arch again this Sunday for our FOURTH Wembley visit.
The night will always be remembered for Michael Timlin’s heroic return after suffering a horrific head injury in the first leg. A performance that summed up everything about that Southend side… heart, fight and never knowing when they were beaten.
Goals on the night from:
⚽ Ryan Leonard
⚽ Stephen McLaughlin
⚽ Michael Timlin
One of the great Roots Hall atmospheres.
One step from glory then.
One step from glory now.

@Benjamingamsu1@EnglandOnOurWay Guehi is statistically our second best defender in the air, behind Maguire. Konsa I like on the ball and is quick. Who would you play?
