For some reason I was now controlling a heartless?! When I asked my Dad what had happened, he told me, "a spiky-haired guy stabbed himself with a big key, and then some bubbles went and popped on a bunch of Disney princess's boobs". 💀
First time I played KH1, I was nearing the end of the game, and I paused the game so I could take a bathroom break. When I came back, I found that my Dad, who'd never shown an interest in KH before, had decided that he wanted to have a go and unpaused my game.
Can we have some positive thoughts about Kingdom Hearts?
I feel like everytime I scroll I see people mad about something and I know that's how this place works nowadays but what are some of your favorite scenes or memories from the series?
I can't quite believe that having never translated a manga in my life before this year, I'm now announcing my third series.
とりまとります/Trapped on Tape is a cosy horror comedy by TNSK, and it's awesome. Check it out.
I've checked with the powers that be, and I can now confirm that I'm working on the delightful 宙飛ぶバイオリン/Interstellar Violin by Kazuto Mihara. I'll be translating volume 2 onwards. As a muso and former lovesick teenage boy, this series speaks to me on many levels!
I'm starting a new manga translation today! It's quite different from Meaheim, but it's something that I'm just as excited to be working on. Watch this space!
I've recently started in earnest on a creative writing project, and I've got to say, nothing motivates you to be creative like watching a bunch of cool stuff that you worked on at your old job get announced without you.
Between Kingdom Hearts III and IV I have:
Had three kids
Got a dog
Moved to a different city
Bought a house
Worked at Square Enix (including on Kingdom Hearts IV)
Started my own business
Between Kingdom Hearts 3 and IV I have:
Graduated my master’s program
Became a clinical therapist
Will have three kids (third born in September)
Bought my own house
Started a private practice and may work for myself (still building it up but it’s strong!)
Life’s crazy man.
I can finally share that I'm the English translator for Meaheim.
If you're into fantasy manga, then you won't want to miss this. I've loved every second of working on this series.
