The Emerald Ash Borer. This beautiful —seemingly harmless— little bug is extremely destructive. On our 2.3 acre home property, we have lost approximately 40 ash trees to this invasive species. #seeminglyharmless #invasivespecies #EmeraldAshBorer #EAB #todayintheyard

This is my photo of the Eastern milksnake seen here in our yard in Carp during the #nccbioblitz2021 . Such a beautiful creature! #todayintheyard

The eastern milksnake is non-venomous and found in Ontario & Quebec. Though widespread, they're declining due to habitat loss, road mortality & unnaturally high mortality from predators. During #NCCBioBlitz 2021, there was 1 observation of this snake near Kanata, ON.
