@Alan_Couzens Hi Alan, how would you recommend a progression for this drill? I can't float to save my life and doing what Brad does in the video would result in immediate failure. Thanks!
@gamecockjoe@brady_h You've gotta train where you're at, not where your competitors are at π Plus, a certain guy might not be racing GR Tri next year π€·ββοΈ
@brady_h@gamecockjoe 100%. And a good coach should work with their athlete to schedule around their life. Life stress influences the body just like training stress. If you don't account for that, You're setting yourself up for failure. Training should fit around life, not the other way around
@gamecockjoe@brady_h It sounds like your training plan isn't designed properly. If you're lacking the desire to work hard for a hard workout, that might mean you're working too hard on your easy days.
@erinstrout Did you read the article? It says, "...highly unlikely that one meal (even if itβs a very large meal consisting of mostly unhealthy foods) is going to negatively impact long-term heart health." They basically say to eat to your heart's content! (As long as you don't have CHF)
@AlbertaGravel @StephenSeiler 2/2 Yes, max efforts deserve more rest but the rest for a max rep 100m swim is equivalent to the rest for a submax rep 400m run
@AlbertaGravel @StephenSeiler 1/2 I'm talking more about submax reps. Running a 1:15 400m and swimming a 1:15 100m are roughly the same physiological strain. Yet the rest for the run is 6x the rest for the swim.
@Alan_Couzens Hi, Alan. I usually agree with your ideas, but maybe I'm misunderstanding this one. As a competitive amateur triathlete, I avg ~14h/w. Only a few times have I ever topped 20. I'm not sure 20 is necessary for performance at the amateur level. Interested to hear your take. Thanks!
@jmarpdx 2/2 ..."Evidence seems to justify the widespread use of foam rolling as a warm-up activity rather than a recovery tool." https://t.co/uoZbrDJuNg
@jmarpdx 1/2 Your foam rolling study had 8 participants. Hardly conclusive. From a 2019 meta-analysis, "Overall, it was determined that the effects of foam rolling on performance and recovery are rather minor...
