Camps cancelled. So what? Find a football field, set up combine drills (40, shuttle, broad jump, 3-cone drill), look up how to do them properly, do position drills at full speed, have a buddy film it all steadily/clearly, send to schools so we can easily time/watch them ourselves

Advice for Young Coaches:

8) You’re one cell phone video away from losing your job and career. You are a public figure; be smart at all times & represent your school well. Never drink and drive & assume there is a camera and microphone on you at all times when you’re in public.

[Scott Stricklin @ScottStricklin]

There’s plenty of speculation on what’s going to happen in the weeks and months to come. Best quote I’ve read on the topic:

“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
- Jesus of Nazareth

This is NOT the time to make attacks on any politicians or any of their supporters. We have a common enemy, this virus. We are all on the SAME team right now. Anyone doing a bad job, we can address when this is over. But they don’t need to try to defend themselves AND the virus.

[Ryan Fournier @RyanAFournier]

BREAKING: The Trump Administration has just announced that they will be sending back all undocumented immigrants and asylum seekers to Mexico due to the China Virus.

We must secure our borders, protect our people and save lives.

This is a smart move.

America—Stay the course.

This country defeated the Nazis

We put a man on the moon

We liberated the world from Communism

We eradicated Polio

We held together after 9/11

We mapped the human genome

This is the greatest country to ever exist

We will WIN!

@pete_brad got a couple of questions, what’s a good time to talk

[John Perry @jperry_nixa]

Steps 3,4,5 & 6 of Building Great Culture.
3. Create a Vision for your program....where are we going.
4. Create a Mission Statement...why we do what we do.
5. Define a few Driving Beliefs...what the program will stand on.
6. Come up with your Core Values...how you will do it.

No one has ever text me 5 years later thanking me for a win. But I have had numerous former players reach out to let me know how they appreciated me for holding them to a high standard and teaching them toughness and to believe in themselves.

Coaches, never forget why you coach!

Picture your brain like a magnet. If you continuously think positive, you attract positives. If you think problems, you attract problems. Think doubt, you will always attract doubt. Cultivate positive thoughts. I’ve realized in life, we get what we think!!!!

I was a 4 year starter in college, I won a lot of awards and received a lot of recognition, but neither of my 3 daughters have ever asked to watch my highlight film. Don’t take school for granted because you’re a good athlete. Sports will one day come to an end. #Ap2w

Isn’t it amazing that the older you get the more you enjoy the simple things in life. Yet we all spend our younger years trying to accumulate as much stuff as possible only to realize its probably not as important as we thought
