What I already am: 1689 Federalist Baptist
Top-down order if I were not my denomination I would be this:
1. 1689 more Westminster type Federalist Baptist
2. Progressive Covenantal Baptist
3. Calvinistic non-Confessional Baptist
4. We’ll never know cause I ran out of characters
@HunterHindsman …also, SBC may not deny Nicene orthodoxy, but a deferral to adopt what all Christians are already supposed to believe only evidences a corporate confusion beyond measure
@HunterHindsman These are good takes! I do wonder (even though I don’t care all that much haha) if the 91% rate on Saddleback was truly convictional and not more pragmatic. Rick Warren is brash and loud about his egalitarianism so it almost demanded a response…
Whoever thinks women pastors and Nicene orthodoxy are matters of doctrinal precision ought not to be a pastor. Those are elementary Christian doctrines
Amos 3.16: You say, “Do not prophesy against Israel, and do not preach against the house of Isaac.”
Is it possible that Pentecostalism has skewed our understanding prophecy? And perhaps modern evangelicalism our understanding of preaching? They seem eerily similar in Scripture
If a Christian organization debates the Nicene Creed, can that organization be all that important to warrant the amount of attention that people give to it? Not saying get rid of and not saying get out. Just saying it can’t be as important as this site makes it appear
Credo and paedobaptists need to both be more humble and stop saying things like “the other side cannot demonstrate…”
If you can’t see the other side’s arguments it is you who need to study more. All the arguments have been made over 400 years ago. And both sides are strong
@jaredcwilson@pastorjgkell Yes and amen!
And, we are not yet married, awaiting the actual marriage supper, at which time we will be perfected. So yes and amen and, sort of? 😂
Spoke for 1.5hrs with a liberal pastor today. We disagreed about the nature of Scripture and the atonement, the definition of sin, the reality of the devil, and the exclusivity of Christ. I can confirm- Machen was right! Christianity and Liberalism are 2 different religions
