Why not let the business fail and mop it up in liquidation and then make cash a government service given all citizens have a right to cash and to use our currency? Be far cheaper than bailing out a business owned by a billionaire. @eyersj
I think @Johnkehoe23 needs a reality check. WA people still only get around 70 cents in the GST dollar and are still propping up the rest of the country.. I think receiving an overly generous windfall is a far stretch. What would happen if WA were to secede?
How can a Reserve Bank that had a $6b loss publicly suggest to average households how to run their budget when they can’t even control their own. Luckily they have the taxpayer to bail them out unlike Mum and Dads. #fiscalpolicyfailures#inflation#aussiedollaratalltimelow
Its been a long time since I woke up and looked forward to what a journalist is writing each day in their column. In my younger years, locally, I would turn to the back page to read the sport. Now I turn to read @mrjoeaston love the read and keep up the good work!
Was this the most flawed business model ever? If only they had used the SoftBank money to buy all the property they were leasing instead of spending billions on leasehold improvements…. Imagine the property portfolio they would now have!
#weworkdisaster#leaseholdimprovements
It’s amazing what happens when you basically exist in a monopoly and don’t care about customer service. 10 billion reasons why they don’t care. #richtaxforbanks#banksdontcare
I can’t wait for a real bank to be around again.
What is it with all these banks only have one teller on the counter to deal with their customers or not even having a teller counter at all…. Their customers want service… and it’s just not there.
It’s ridiculous. Rant over!
This should read WA walking tall now it gets it’s fair share of GST. Also @MarkMcGowanMP should be fair and give credit to the former governments including his for fighting for it. #wagst#markmcgowan His ten year of surpluses now need to direct funds into the critical things!
This is such a waste of taxpayers time and money. The former actions of Morrison are not undermining the government and the democratic process. We don’t elect ministers. We elect parliamentarians and then the leader and party appoint the Ministers. #auspol#taxpayerfundswasted
@AnnKreger Did you also miss the part where this practice of the appointment of multiple ministers and assistants has been common practice for years? Should it be published yes. Was what happened illegal. No. Labor needs to move on an deal with the big challenges like climate and energy
@simmiMANYA Legallly it’s ok and under Section 64 multiple ministers can be appointed to a single portfolio and it’s common practice and has been for some time. The SG was asked to answer one question and did on the first page of his judgment but then chose to write another 26 pages. Why?
@simmiMANYA That’s a crock as they know who was making the decisions and that’s why we know there is one decision Morrison made and which will be contested legally even though Morrison could legally do what he did. Morally, probably not but understandable in covid circumstances, yes?
@AnnKreger Did you miss the part where he only made one decision and therefore the Ministers arguably did their jobs? Did you also miss the part where he didn’t do anything illegal. Such a waste of time. This is politics and browny points aren’t needed by Albo. Move on, nothing to see here
