i get this one weekly.

if your debt charges 15% interest and your investments return 8%, the maths is obvious. pay the debt.

but if your mortgage is 4% and markets average 8%, it gets murkier.

the real answer: it depends on what keeps you up at night. some people sleep better debt-free. others sleep better watching their ISA grow. both are valid.
