I never understood “using” men solely for things like vacations/dinners/experiences because doing anything with a man I don’t like sounds like my person version of hell lmao
Wishing all the moms out there a wonderful Mother’s Day!
To @MichelleObama, I’m grateful for all the ways you’ve shown up for our daughters and our family over the years. We love you.
People don’t understand how famous Michael Jackson was. Nobody else came close. He was known in every 3rd world country as well as the west. He couldn’t PA at nightclubs or restaurants like other celebs. No sitting court side at NBA games or ring side at boxing events. Why? Because fans would just cause chaos and shut the place down. People don’t understand that level of fame.
The whole world tuned in to watch the thriller premier, before social media and YouTube etc. He could sing, dance, choreograph, hardly did interviews, aura was another level, world leaders would ask to meet him. Roads shut down when he was staying at hotels etc.
Nobody before or since can compare, stop these lame comparisons. People used to faint when they saw him in person. It was insane and unheard of. There will only be one Michael Jackson and never again will we witness such talent and aura. Never.
Doody, can't believe it's been 20 years since you've been gone! Not a day goes by that I don't think about you in some way shape or form…You were and are still truly one of the greatest friends I ever had in my entire life and I thank God everyday that he put us in each other's lives.. I feel like that happened for a reason. Ever since the day I met you sitting on the steps of Osborne when I was handing out flyers and we rapped for each other and instantly bonded that day and never looked back!! My life would never have taken the trajectory it took had I not met you. Thank you for always believing in me like I always believed in you!! We had such an amazing ride together and I will never forget you and what you did for me and my self-esteem and confidence every time you cosigned for me at every club and open mic we ever went to!! Your credibility was enough to open people's minds to not judge me until they heard me and you were one of the first ones who got people to listen before they passed any judgment!! I love you doody you will always be my best friend no matter how much time passes and I will never forget you as long as I live!!! Until we meet again my friend I love you doody!!! Love, doody
In 1889, a male reporter said no woman could travel the world alone. Nellie Bly — 25, fearless, and working for The New York World, said, "Watch me." She packed one bag, just a passport, notebook, and £200 in gold. She traveled 21,740 miles — by steamship, train, rickshaw, and even mule. She beat Jules Verne's fictional record, finishing her trip in 72 days. And sent dispatches from every stop, making her one of the first global celebrity journalists. In 1887, she faked insanity to report from inside Blackwell's Island Asylum.
Her 10-day exposé exposed horrific abuse, and led to major reforms in mental health care. She later ran a factory, covered World War I from the front lines, and reported on women's suffrage. All this in an era where women weren't even allowed to vote.
I shares stories about women, daily.
I owe an apology to all the women I thought were bitter while their husbands seemed so easygoing.
Now I know it is very easy to be easygoing when someone else is carrying the entire weight of your life.
Just a quick reminder that the man who "goes to work to support his family" is sacrificing nothing and would still have to work without a family. He'd have more disposable income, sure, but a man who has a family to support has chosen to spend his disposable income on the privilege of having a family. It's an exchange, not a sacrifice, and it's an exchange that heavily favours him because if men had to pay professionals to do the labour their wives are doing, most men couldn't afford it.
A Gen Z joined the team.
Week one.
During onboarding, the manager said,
“We sometimes stay late during peak periods.”
Gen Z nodded.
Then asked,
“Is that paid… or just expected?”
The room went quiet.
- No attitude.
- No rebellion.
- Just a question.
Later that day, HR mentioned “growth opportunities.”
Gen Z replied,
“Does growth include raises, or just more responsibility?”
Again, silence.
- No laziness.
- No entitlement.
- Just clarity.
That’s when the team realized something.
When people say
“Gen Z is lazy,”
what they really mean is:
Gen Z watched old generation
- skip meals,
- miss birthdays,
- work weekends,
- and burn out
only to be told
“budgets are tight”
and “be grateful you have a job.”
So Gen Z chose differently.
- They don’t romanticize overwork.
- They don’t confuse suffering with ambition.
- They don’t trade health for praise.
They still work hard.
They just refuse to work for nothing.
It’s not laziness.
It’s pattern recognition.
And honestly,
after everything old generation went through…
Can you really blame them?
