Sticking to no contact really helps your self confidence. You realize there isn’t a single person you can’t live without. You had a life before they existed in it, and you’ll have one after they’re gone. Their importance was only informed by your attention.
Once you cut people out of your life, you need to become very comfortable with them talking bad and making things up about you. Because they will fill your silence and your absence with stories that make them feel better about losing access to you. People rarely take accountability when it’s easier to paint you as the villain.
I don’t want my daughter to be like me. I want her to speak up sooner. Walk away faster. Trust herself deeper. Apologize less. Take up more space. Ask bigger questions. Dream louder. And if that means she becomes everything I wasnt… GOOD!
I really dislike the concept of “we experience people differently” because what have I done for you to be horrible to me but kind to the next person?? 😭
