@ivypika This is also the most rare Mewtwo card ever, in any language. Only two PSA 10s and four PSA 9s. It's one of the hardest to grade cards ever distributed
@HelloKittyTimo There actually two of these PSA 10s in the world, there's one that is mislabeled as a no rarity Pikachu. I saw a major collector on IG post it
@kdean Big mistake brother, these are the first cards of the Pokemon world. The largest sale for 16M was the illustrator which is 1998 Japanese. Cards in Pokemon's native language. Just sit with it. You'll realize soon enough.
@thepropgallery Yup, you can't go further back on pokemon sets, this was the first. It's safest for retaining long term value and appreciation. All I collect now are no rarity and 96&97 Corocoro glossy promos
@poke_maam They lead, and everything else thats non TCG released in 1996 will follow.
This point here is very true no matter what I think, if the sales are there then the value is there. All other licensed early items will feel the effect too
@poke_maam NR and Corocoro pika/jiggly are the safest bets for long-term holds. There's still a big divide with bandai 96 too, so idk if those prices will come back up since they're not official TCG either but who knows. When the Grails pump then everything else close by gets the overflow
@poke_maam@GoldinCo Good point, if rookie means first appearance then yes definitely. A hard no for me is people marketing them as rookie CARDS. It'll be interesting to see if these will keep going up or crash like the Topsun Charizard that went for 500k a few years back and recently sold for 60k
@poke_maam@GoldinCo Definitely, I have a couple sealed Tomy figures (one super rare from 96) and manga, but I'll be surprised if any of the stickers reach or beat TCG prices, of course anything is possible. I personally wouldn't call that the Charizard rookie, but general consensus is what matters
@poke_maam@GoldinCo They're definitely first, but they were the first stickers, not cards. So it comes down to the individual and what they value. Sure there's the argument that this was the first licensed collectible for Pokemon and that's 100% valid, but if youre a TCG collector these are not that
@poke_maam@HelloKittyTimo This is true. I guess I weigh pop reports too highly. Having 30 in a psa 10 somehow puts it in the price range of balloon pika for me personally. Then surfing at 15 and mewtwo with 7. You may be right though that people are really placing a premium in it since its the first mew
