Faith to Be Healed
By Kenneth E. Hagin

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.—ROMANS 10:17

Healing is in God’s plan of redemption, so it belongs to all of us. And faith for obtaining healing comes the same way that faith for obtaining salvation comes—by hearing the Gospel (the Word of God) preached.

Acts chapter 14 tells us about the first missionary journey of Barnabas and Paul. It tells us where they went and what they did. Verse 7 says, “And there they preached the gospel.”
Let’s continue reading.

ACTS 14:8–10
8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:
9 The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

This man was definitely healed on his own faith. He was not healed because Paul was an apostle, or by any special manifestation of the Spirit. He was healed because he had faith. Where did he get the faith to be healed? Did he have faith to be healed because God just sort of flew over him like a bird and dropped faith down in his heart? No! He heard Paul speak.

There is a connection between hearing the Word preached or taught and having faith to be healed. He got faith to be healed from what he heard Paul speak. What did Paul speak? According to verse 7, he preached the Gospel or the Word of God.

Confession:
I receive faith to be healed by hearing the Gospel, the Word of God. And then I act on my faith!

FAITH IS MEASURABLE
By Kenneth E. Hagin

When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel. — MATTHEW 8:10

A centurion came to Jesus on behalf of his sick servant. When Jesus said, “. . . I will come and heal him” (Matt. 8:7), the centurion answered, “. . . speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed” . Jesus said to him, “. . . Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee . . .” (v. 13).

Turning to His disciples, Jesus said, “. . . I have not found so GREAT faith, no, not in Israel” (v. 10). Therefore, it is possible for a person to develop great faith.

On the other hand, an example of little faith is seen when Peter began to sink after having walked on the water. Jesus chided Peter, saying, “. . . O thou of LITTLE faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Matt. 14:31).

If faith can be great, and faith can be little, then faith is measurable!

Here are some scriptures that prove faith is measurable: Growing faith (2 Thess. 1:3); weak faith (Rom. 4:19); strong faith (Rom. 4:20); rich faith (James 2:5); full of faith (Acts 6:5); perfect faith (James 2:22); unfeigned faith (1 Tim. 1:5); shipwrecked faith (1 Tim. 1:19); overcoming faith (1 John 5:4)

Confession
My faith is growing. My faith is measuring up to a great faith, strong faith, rich faith, perfect faith, unfeigned faith, overcoming faith, I am full of faith!

Colossians 2:13-15
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Confession
I am made alive together with Him. All my trespasses have been remitted and forgiven. The handwriting of ordinances that was against me has been blotted out, taken out of the way and nailed to the cross. Jesus spoiled principalities and powers for me. He made a show of them openly triumphing over them in it. I walk in victory over the devil and his cohorts.

Don’t Let Your Past Mistakes Hinder You
By Kenneth E. Hagin

. . . and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.—MICAH 7:19

Something that hinders many people’s faith from working is their past mistakes, their failures, and their faults. Well, what does God’s Word have to say about it? What does God’s Word have to say about your mistakes? What does God’s Word have to say about your failures? God’s Word says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Every time the devil brings a picture of your past mistakes, confess what God says instead of confessing how you feel about it. Confess that God has forgiven you and cleansed you. Say, “I’m forgetting it, because He has forgotten it.” Even though the devil may bring a picture of it to your mind, don’t entertain it, because God has forgiven you and has forgotten it. You can stand in the Presence of God as though you had never done anything wrong. As you confess God’s Word, the reality of it will be developed in your life until you’ll feel so clean and pure.

When the devil brings a picture of a past wrong you did, don’t deny it. Just say, “Yes, I did that. I was wrong. I missed it. But First John 1:9 says that if I confess my sins, God is faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me of all unrighteousness.” God has forgiven you. Thank Him for it and your faith will start working again.

Confession:
God is not holding my past mistakes against me. He has forgiven me and forgotten it. I can stand in the Presence of God as though I had never done anything wrong.

GROWING FAITH
By Kenneth E. Hagin

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly . . . — 2 THESSALONIANS 1:3

God gets all believers started off equally with the measure of faith after they are born again. He doesn’t give one baby Christian more faith than He gives another. After we are born again, however, it is up to each one of us to develop the measure of faith that has been given to us.

Too many have done with their faith what the fellow did with his one talent: He wrapped it in a napkin, hid it, and didn’t use it.

Your measure of faith can be increased — it can grow. But you are the one who increases it — not God!
Your measure of faith can be increased by doing these two things: (1) Feeding it on the Word of God, and (2) Exercising it by putting it into practice.

Confession
God has given me the measure of faith. I will see to it that my faith grows exceedingly. I will feed my faith on the Word of God. I will exercise my faith — I will put it into practice. My faith is growing.

What Does God’s Word Say?
By Kenneth E. Hagin

. . . for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.—PSALM 138:2

So much of the time, we accept the testimony of our physical senses instead of accepting the testimony of God’s Word. What does God’s Word say? Instead of stopping to ask ourselves that question, we let our physical senses dominate us.

Now you can ask that question on any subject. For instance, what does God’s Word say about sickness? Does God’s Word have anything to say about sickness? Certainly it does! Don’t spend all your time talking about how sick you are and what your symptoms are and what the doctor said about it. If you keep talking like that, you’ll die.
In the face of sickness, stop and ask yourself, “What does God’s Word say about this disease?” Matthew 8:17 says, “That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.” ighWhat are you going to do with that? Believe it and confess it! And if you really believe it in your heart and confess it with your mouth, the reality of it will be created in your life.

It doesn’t happen overnight. You have to continually practice God’s Word for it to work. You may have to confess some scriptures for a while, but if you continue and don’t give up, you’ll see the reality of it.

Confession:
What does God’s Word say about my situation? I search and find out. Then I believe it and confess it. I continually practice God’s Word. I continually give it first place in my life.

THE SAME FAITH
By Kenneth E. Hagin

We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak. — 2 CORINTHIANS 4:13

Paul wrote, “We HAVING the same spirit of faith . . . .”

He didn’t say, “trying to have,” or “praying for,” or “hoping for”; he said, “having”! Having what? The same spirit of faith. And what kind of faith is that? The kind that (1) believes, and (2) therefore speaks.

Isn’t that the same kind of faith Jesus is talking about in Mark 11:23? The kind that (1) believes in the heart, (2) says with the mouth, and (3) then it comes to pass?

Yes! That’s the same spirit of faith! And Second Corinthians 4:13 says that we have it!

Confession
I have the same spirit of faith. I believe and therefore I speak. I have a measure of the God-kind of faith. I have a measure of the kind of faith that created the worlds in the beginning. I have a measure of mountain-moving faith.

Doubt and Fear
By Kenneth E. Hagin

But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?—MATTHEW 14:30–31

The following is a psalm given to me by the Lord:

Doubt and fear: the two tormenting twins of the enemy,
Sent to torment you down here.
Doubt and fear will rob you of faith,
Health and healing, and all spirituality too.
Doubt and fear will dog your tracks as you walk down here.
But doubt and fear do not belong to the child of God.
For, you see, you’re a child of the Father—a child of faith and love.
Faith and love come down from the Father above—
Faith and love to abide in your spirit and heart
For you to walk in love and to act by faith.
And so, you’ll not, when the enemy shows his head, run away and hide,
But, rather, you in the Word of God shall abide
And will speak forth by faith in love.
And all of God’s blessings shall be showered on you from above.

Confession:
I’m a believer. I don’t doubt the Word of God. I BELIEVE the Word of God. I resist doubt and fear, for they come from the enemy. And I receive faith and love, because they come from the Father up above.

THE WORD OF FAITH
By Kenneth E. Hagin

But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach. — ROMANS 10:8

God’s Word is called “the word of faith.”

Faith is based on facts — the facts of God’s Word.

Unbelief is founded on theories. This is my definition of a theory: “A theory is a supposition established upon ignorance of the subject under discussion.” The reason why many churches are full of unbelief is because they’ve heard too much theory. The ministry has thrived on a psychology of unbelief, and the poor, dear church members are simply a product of what they have heard their ministers preach.

The best way to really help people is to tell them what the Bible says — to give them what God’s Word says — not what some man says. Man can be wrong, but God can never be wrong.

No matter what the circumstances — no matter what has happened in your life — God’s Word has something to say on the subject. Find out what God’s Word says. Faith will come — and it will change things for you.

Confession
The Word . . . God’s Word . . . the word of faith . . . is near me. I hide it in my heart. I speak it with my mouth. It produces faith. And faith changes things.

Don’t Talk Doubt
By Kenneth E. Hagin

Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.—MATTHEW 21:21

Spiritual growth is similar to physical growth. You didn’t grow up physically overnight. So don’t get discouraged when you don’t grow up spiritually overnight. Begin to practice the Word of God, and you will grow spiritually.
Don’t confess your doubts. Doubt will hinder your spiritual growth. Many people think they are being honest when they confess their doubts. Now if you’re saved, you’re not full of doubt.
There has to be some faith in your heart or you couldn’t have been saved. The Bible says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” (Eph. 2:8).

Instead of talking doubt, why not just say, “I’m a believer and I do have faith”? If you’re saved, you know you are. Confess who you are in Christ. Don’t confess your doubts. Rev. F. F. Bosworth said, “Doubt your doubts, and believe your beliefs.” The trouble with most Christians is that they are believing their doubts and doubting their beliefs. Doubting your doubts and believing your beliefs will put you over if you’ll just practice it.

Confession:
I’m a believer and I do have faith. I doubt my doubts and believe my beliefs. And doing this will put me over in every area of life.

HOW FAITH COMES
By Kenneth E. Hagin

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. — ROMANS 10:17

How does God give the sinner faith to be saved?

Let me read along with you from Romans chapter 10, which talks about salvation and about getting faith to be saved. (My comments are in brackets.)

“But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach [Notice that God’s Word is called ‘the word of faith.’ That’s because it builds faith. It causes faith to come into the hearts of those who are open to it.]; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. . . . For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? [Now get this.] and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? . . . So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Rom. 10:8-10,13,14,17).

You cannot believe without hearing. Faith comes by hearing. Hearing what? The Word of God!

Confession
I listen to the Word of God. And faith comes to me.

Don’t Talk Fear
By Kenneth E. Hagin

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God . . .—ISAIAH 41:10

Don’t confess fear. Some people might say, “But what if I’m afraid?” Well, you’re not really afraid if you look at it the way God looks at it. Dare to think like God thinks. Second Timothy 1:7 says, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” God has not given you a spirit of fear. So begin to confess only what God has given you.
Confess, “I have a spirit of power that drives away fear. I have a spirit of love. I have a spirit of a sound mind.” Fear will tell you, “You’re losing your mind.” And if you listen to it, you will become fearful, nervous, and distracted. The devil will tell you that you’re losing your mind. But don’t confess that. Start confessing, “I don’t have a spirit of fear. God didn’t give it to me, and I won’t accept it. I have a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.”

Fear comes from the outside to take hold of you. It’s not in you if you’re a Christian. So don’t open the door to the devil. Don’t invite him in.

Your confession of something creates the reality of it. That’s what I want you to get. If you’re going to wait for something to become real before you start believing and confessing it, it will never happen. But when you confess it, then it begins to dominate you.

Now there will be battles, because the devil is the god of this world. He’ll put every kind of obstacle he can in your way. But every time you win a victory, it gets easier and easier. And after awhile, you’ll come to the place where every time the devil sticks his head up, you’ll just start laughing, because you know the way of victory.

Confession:
I don’t talk fear. God has not given me a spirit of fear. God has given me the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. Therefore, I confess that I have a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. And that’s what I have! That’s what becomes a reality in my life.

SAVED THROUGH FAITH!
By Kenneth E. Hagin

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. — EPHESIANS 2:8

Notice that the faith you are saved by is “not of yourselves.” In other words, it’s not a natural, human faith. It’s the gift of God! That agrees with Romans 12:3, which states that “. . . God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

Yet Christians will say, “I just don’t have any faith.”
I always answer by saying, “Then why don’t you get saved? Saved people have faith! You can’t be saved without faith.”

All believers have faith. The Bible says they do! But many Christians don’t realize they do — and they’re not using the faith they have. By continually talking about how they don’t have faith, they “take sides” against God, against the Bible, and against themselves, without recognizing what they are doing.

God’s Word is God speaking. God and His Word are one: If God’s Word says something, that is God saying it. And God’s Word says that God has dealt to you the measure of faith. It has to be the God-kind of faith — because that’s the only kind of faith God has!

Confession
I am saved! And I was saved by grace through faith — the gift of God! I have a measure of the God-kind of faith! I have a measure of the kind of faith which created the world in the beginnig! I have a measure of mountain-moving faith

FAITH DEALT
By Kenneth E. Hagin

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. — ROMANS 12:3

“Faith — that’s what I want!” many people say to me. “And I’m praying that God will give it to me.”

If that’s what you’re doing, you’re wasting your time. It would do no more good to pray that God will give you faith than it would to twiddle your thumbs and recite “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” Praying for faith is lost motion and wasted time, because every believer already has a measure of the God-kind of faith. You don’t have to get it. You don’t have to pray for it. You don’t have to fast for it. You don’t have to promise to do better and be good to get it. You already have it!

In this verse in Romans, Paul wasn’t writing to sinners, but to believers. He said, “. . . I say . . . to every man that is among you [not to every man in the world], . . . God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

All believers have faith! God gave it to them!

Confession
God dealt to me the measure of faith. I have a measure of the God-kind of faith! God already gave it to me! I have it now.

Don’t Talk Sickness
By Kenneth E. Hagin

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.—MATTHEW 12:37

I remember one dear person who was certain that she had cancer. For ten years, every time I saw her, she was sure that she had cancer. I’d say to her, “Well, you don’t.” Every six months, she would go to the doctor for a check up. The doctor never found a trace of cancer. But she would say, “I’m just sure I’ve got it.” Now she was a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian.
I said to her, “Don’t talk sickness. You’ll never hear me talking sickness, because I don’t want sickness to dominate me and have a place in me.” But she would go right back to talking sickness.

Then I just said outright, “Quit talking sickness! If you keep talking sickness, sickness will develop in your system. I don’t ever talk sickness. I talk healing and health. I don’t believe in sickness. I believe in healing and health. And, you see, what I confess I have. What I confess dominates me!”

Well, she wouldn’t listen. She wouldn’t talk in line with God’s Word. Instead, she spoke sickness. And after ten years of telling me she had cancer, the doctor finally found cancer in her body. She talked herself into cancer. She talked herself into dying. I’m glad she went to Heaven, but she could have still been here.

Let me say it again: When you confess Satan’s ability to hinder you, to keep you sick, to keep you from success or from any of the blessings of God, you’re giving him dominion in your life.

Confession:
I don’t talk sickness. I talk health and healing. I talk in line with God’s Word. And I see the fruit of my words manifest in my own life.
