@GaTechAlum_IE92@BlaqKobra WHY IS THIS GUY COMMENTING ON STUFF NOT BEING REPOSTED MORE ARE YALL INSANE HES LITERALLY THE ORIGINATOR TELLING YOU IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SIM-CADE, we lost the plot share his tweets bruh
This is incorrect
The initial version of 2K design principles was to make the fame fun first and realistic second.
That’s why we broke out from the 8 other basketball games that were out in 1999
The concept was “easy to pick up, but hard to master”
That concept lasted for about 10 to 15 years.
But we’re losing recipes.
And since aggressive monetization and with the folks at VC are retiring, the game has lost its soul 🤷🏾♂️
@xWh1teRanger@STEEZO_THE_GOD Whelp that’s been debunked you fucking wrong, the producer of the original 2k commented above you and literally said this game is going against the foundations he built the game on
2k23 and 2k22 weren’t stiff. 24 was on its way to being stiff but it still wasn’t that bad and the rest of the game heavily shined. 25 is where it really started, 26 would’ve been fucking horrible if we didn’t have dbook snatchback and the largest green window in the history of this game. Since 2k25, it’s literally been 1 to 2 escape dribble, LeBron hop/walkback, 1 to 2 snatch backs, and 1-2 behind the backs. There is no fluidity or variety to the dribbling, so then it takes people like steezo and Chapuh to find outlandish ways to combo moves that aren’t really understood because the inputs to do them are extremely complicated and or not blatantly explained to even exist in the game, then BECAUSE the people without thumbs can’t do it they run to devs virtue signaling with the “2k isn’t playing like real basketball” they nerf it more and more to the point the game becomes too overly complex to make it our brains vs each other. We have finally reached the point where we are against not only the person across from us, but we’re battling the game itself too and it should never feel like that
@GaTechAlum_IE92@STEEZO_THE_GOD Bro he said this an hour ago and nobody seen this shit? The ORIGINAL PRODUCER of NBA2K is on the communities side lmaooo there’s no fucking way @Ronnie2K show your ppl this they are embarassing yall
@STEEZO_THE_GOD As someone who produced the original NBA 2K and NFL 2K for the Dreamcast, it’s sad to see your child decline
We are losing recipes
The fundamental principles that set our 2K games apart 25 years ago, have been totally lost over the last decade 🤷🏾♂️
I swear by the idea that they could have added the momentum and misdirection mechanics of 24 to 26, took d book breakdown out, and bumped up whatever makes the shot feedback read a contest level just a little, that was a perfect game.
Also 2ks issue is over correction. Contest system is clearly just a hit box proximity detection. They should focus on that and that ONLY when people complain about shooting. You don’t need to push the limits of human reaction time further and further every year. You don’t need to slow offensive movement down AND increase body up effectiveness. Passing idek why that changes I can’t remember a single time in history of 2k someone complaining about passing the ball being OP.
They should JUST remove problematic animations when they pop up. Sad part is they could just onboard Chapuh or Autos and they’ll find them for them every year 😂 it’s actually way simpler to make a better video game than they make it seem
Nigga he’s not telling you “these shots should say light contest” he’s telling you “shots that say light contest shouldn’t be this hard to shoot” you’re arguing a completely different issue with the game and that’s why we never get anywhere because yall complain under an umbrella.
If I shoot a “red contest” both under the hood and VISUALLY on your monitor, and it goes in, yall say the contest system is bad
If I shoot the SAME shot and it says open, yall say the contest system is bad.
So if you were a developer how would you approach correcting that?
Because in a vacuum, there’s only an issue in ONE of those two scenarios. But as a developer if you’re trying to address the complaint at hand, the only thing you can do is make it more difficult to shoot in general. When in reality the only problem was the under the hood registration of what the contest penalty on the shot should have been. MAKING a contested shot, or even many, does not indicate an issue. But we don’t have people who actually understand that advocating, which it looks like carti does, but you fall into the vast majority of people who do not. 27 is the solution we end up with.
@KingCampTV Pro play made thousands of new animations possible, the problem is none of the are fast enough in comparison to defensive movements rendering them completely useless in the game
Camp you play center. You don’t understand at all what creators are going through on this game. It’s not okay in the slightest. And there’s only been 3-4 usable dribble moves since 25. Dribbling hasn’t been the same since they added pro play. 24 had it too I believe but it was only for certain animations and we still used mostly the same moves from 23 and then the inherent moves like misdirection and such.
@lonzoSZN2@AyCartiii@Beluba@strausszelnick It should be larger on anything yellow. It shouldn’t be this hard to shoot until the contest is orange or darker. I also think the increased game speed is heavily contributing to the issues with shooting
