Madex has refused an offer of 1 BTC by Bitcoin Magazine CEO @DavidFBailey to turn a magnificent physical Bitcoin painting, which had just been sold to a collector, into an ordinal NFT.
Congratulations to all of us who own an original @spacebull painting: with this one extremely baller move, https://t.co/ThK7VMoVRg has just increased the value of all his artwork by a factor of 5-10x.
Not only does this prove beyond any doubt that Madex has unshakable integrity as a creator and artist, but it also guarantees that the value of the physical artwork we invested it will not be diluted endlessly with bullshit NFTs by the artist.
When you buy art, you buy into the reputation of the artist. Reputation is hard earned and easily lost. I've never been happier to have spent so much Bitcoin on building a Madex art collection.
The legendary artwork by Madex represents a tribute to the ethos Bitcoin: integrity, proof of work and scarcity. If you know him, you know he is probably the artist most publicly opposed to NFT scams.
What was David's intent in bribing Madex with a faustian bargain to let him create an NFT from his art? Was it to prove that “everyone is a scammer”? That we can all be corrupted by greed? Well, Madex has just proven that some people’s integrity simply cannot be bought.
Or perhaps was it that David thought he could create hype around a Madex token and sell it later at a much higher price? The ordinal grifter community would have certainly jubilated at seeing the incorruptible Madex compromise on his ethics to make money, just like they all did. No doubt, the Madex ponzi scheme would have pumped wildly, enriching those at the top of the pyramid, until one sucker would have been left holding the bag as the ordinals scam inevitably collapses.
Turning the painting into an NFT certainly isin't a tribute to Madex - you have to be unfathomably disconnected from the Madex philosophy to even come up with such an absurd proposition.
One of the reasons why Madex's art is so special to me, besides that it is visually stunning and contains complex hidden meanings and references to Bitcoin and free market philosophy, is that it, is that it represents the new mindset and culture of of uncompromising integrity which made Bitcoin possible and which will become mainstream under a Bitcoin Standard. Integrity is extremely scarce, and in rising demand.
Kudos to Madex, my friend you are legendary and your name will echo through the ages.
