It is very possible to think you’re a better communicator than you actually are. I find that folk who intellectualize their emotions a lot have a lot of internal dialogue that ~feels~ like they’re being forthright when actually the “communication” is internalized.

White people truly believe that in the absence of “proper authorities” they’re in charge. Especially if Black people are involved. It shows in everything they do.

The lynching of Jordan Neely is what happens when you blame every violent thing that happens in this country on mental illness because while it excuses violent behavior from white people, it criminalizes mental illness in Black people.
