His Lordship and I cantered around the local woodland, splashing through muddy puddles and along thin narrow trails. With a few days of back-to-back dry weather, it has started to feel like spring has begun to emerge from its long wintery slumber.
His Lordship Barney and Hetty Mega Mare and I enjoyed a dry yet stormy ride and lead adventure this morning, despite being windblown, it was a fantastic hack out. We splashed through puddles of freshly fallen rain, ducked under swaying branching and rode through sheltered hamlets
@ClareEGabriel3 Pelting it down here too; fivers in full flow, lanes flooded and wind is howling. Broken out the proper fisherman style wet weather gear today, only kit man enough for this weather. Hope you get int he warm and dry off soon.
Trail blazing through Dartmoor National Park. We rode past granite tors reaching skywards, silhouetted by the stormy sky, navigated narrow tracks, flowing with freshly fallen rain and cantered along the sodden tracks with the wind blowing an ivy cold deluge in our faces.
@stan_sdcollins My friend, you look well. I am pleased to hear you are having trips out with with the Mrs and Jersey. Stay warm and cosy during these autumn and winter days.
Solo woodland trailblazing with Hetty Mega Mare and his Lordship Barney, through the stillness of the forestland. Hetty mare had her usual splash in the ford, whilst Barney was far too sensible to stop and splash about and opted to stride though it.
Fresh rain plummeted down as we trailed blazed through the ford, ducked under branches with leaves heavily laden with freshly fallen rain, and then had an exhilarating canter up the steep hill with the refreshing rain blowing in our faces.
We splashed through crystal clear fords, ducked under low branches, stepped over fallen trees and had two exhilarating canters. The woodland was filled with the sound of the steam flowing beside the track and the squeaking of tack and the thunder of cantering hooves.
