General rule for accounting for how wind will effect your golf ball;
For every 1mph of wind into, add 1% of the yardage on
For every 1mph of wind down, take 0.5% of the yardage off
For example;
10mph wind on a 100 yard shot - Down wind playing 95y, into wind playing 110y
Stick to your game plan.
Your emotional state shouldn’t change your strategy.
Do not change your approach to the following hole(s) in reaction to your score on the previous hole(s)
5 easy wins for your golf game as we close in on the 2026 golf season;
1. Replace worn or missing shoe spikes
2. Clean your golf clubs
3. Check for worn grips and replace if necessary
4. Warm up properly before your round
5. Develop a consistent pre shot routine
Instead of trying to hit different flight windows and change the curvature for each shot.

1. Can you start the ball on your intended line.
2. Can you hit the ball at the correct speed.
3. Can you predict the break of the putt.
The function of the hands in the golf swing is to control club-face alignment, release stored energy to the club head and control low point. Taking your hands out of your golf swing is;
1. Extremely detrimental
2. Mechanically impossible
Stop ‘trying’ to remove your hands!
If there was one concept that all amateur golfers should understand, it is how the club path, club face, angle of attack and dynamic loft affect the ball flight.
If you understand this, you can improve your ball flight.
If you don’t, ask your coach to help you understand 🧠
