@STLSprtsCntrl 90$ for the games when I’m in town. Not 29$. Clickbait gimmick. Probably one game where it’s 29$ and 2 tickets available at that price. No thanks.
I have always liked to hire ex college athletes. I don’t believe that I will in future. It used to be because they had something non athletes didn’t. NIL and transfer portal has created young adults with no commitment, no seeing through tough times, no integrity, just all about the Benjamin’s. Hard pass.
Yeah, let’s blow up another league. Jeez. If these guys were great they would make 10 mil a year in the National. They will complain until they don’t have a job at all as the league will fold. They are playing a game. At a very low level comparatively. The pay is in line with the level. Want more money? Play better.
@ECHL Easy. Make it a part time job where they can have other jobs. If a higher league wants to pay a player to play in your league they will. Otherwise, do what’s best to keep the league afloat or these guys won’t have anywhere to play.
As a “been there, done that” guy, if these players are doing it for the money, they need to go get another job. This is certainly a direct path to a folding league and these guys having nowhere to play/no job. Supply/demand/revenue. Are the fans and sponsors willing to double their investment for a dasherboard or ticket? If so, then easy answer. Otherwise, kiss the league and therefore jobs playing goodbye. Playing sports for a living, your living is only going to be as good as your ability to generate $$. My ability and therefore my living wasn’t very good but I loved every second. Want more money? Play better so a better paying league signs you.
This will all be interesting. MLB pays a guy 700 million. They have to have $$ from TV to cover that stuff. So they gouge consumers. When will consumers stop paying the bill? Seems a a big sports bubble is upon us. As long as people keep paying, they will keep raising the price. When will people say enough?
@bflay should be embarrassed. Hamburger and fries at his fast food place in #skyharbor 23$. And not better than a Costco frozen burger @BobbysBurgers_#ripoff
That’s 1/3. You are 100% correct .
Don’t forget 2. now people can gamble in nearly every state in the country. The novelty of a casino only in Vegas or Sports Books only in Vegas is gone. If you get bored of it in your own city, why go to Vegas for it.
And 3. Boxing died. That was a MAJOR lifeblood of Vegas. Yes hockey, football, etc are now there but you can do that in every city in the country. But Tyson fights, Mayweather fights, even Lennox Lewis fights were must attend events. They have F1 now but that is once a year.
@vegasasnews@AppyOrtho Those events are great. problem is they had a lot more boxing when was big.
The casinos may indeed have made that decision, but was it a good in the end? Can’t complain about reduced traffic into Vegas AND want less players playing.
Has nothing to do with our economy but you are correct it’s losing tourists.
1. Gambling is everywhere now. No reason to go to Vegas when you can bet from your couch at anytime.
2. Boxing Dead. It used to bring people from all around the world. Tyson/Holyfield, Mayweather/Hatton, etc. every week there was a big fight.
3. Casinos got greedy. They used to have agreements with airline, other hotels, etc. No more. So no more free buffet, no more free rooms, no more cheap flights. It’s expensive to go now when it wasn’t before.
4. Vegas is now just another snowbird city like Phoenix. It will ebb and flow with the weather and it’s been a hot summer. But the locals aren’t going to casinos and tipping just like the Phx locals aren’t at the Grand Canyon every weekend.
@ChoiceWarranty’s Poor Service Left Me Without a Microwave for Over a Year! I’ve been a loyal Choice Warranty customer for over 10 years, but their handling of my $3,000 built-in microwave repair has been unacceptable. Their technician dropped and further damaged my microwave, took it for 6 months, returned it broken, and a second repairman has now deemed it unrepairable. After $150 in service call fees and no microwave for over a year, they offered a measly $200! This is outrageous for a loyal customer. Run from @ChoiceWarranty and run fast!! #ChoiceWarrantyFail #CustomerServiceDisaster
