One of my Entry 2 adult #ESOL students has made great progress with his spoken fluency this semester. He’s been doing speaking practice with his daughter every weekend. Has there been any useful research into the benefits of adult ESOL students having bilingual children?#ESOLchat
@SusieESOL .....It’s been very difficult differentiating between the horrific effects of the pandemic, and the potentially negative effects of online learning. I feel online learning has taken too much of the blame for 'lost learning' in these circumstances. #ESOLchat
@SusieESOL A4. I couldn’t believe how well some of my learners did in their final exams last week after a year of worrying about ‘lost learning’. Some learners have thrived learning online...... #ESOLchat
@SusieESOL A2 I was really interested in Judith Hanks' talk at the @NATESOL_Tweets conference about exploratory practice. I'm interested in the idea of 'puzzling' about things, rather than immediately seeking a solution to problems. Something to think about over half term! #ESOLchat
@NateclaEast A1 I think in general it would be the transition from 'emergency' online teaching to online teaching as the norm, with 0 novelty value, all the challenges of 'normal' teaching, and added new ones #ESOLchat
