Here’s a new short story! A comedic historical-fiction set in Ancient Mesopotamia. Unscrupulous trader, Namkuzu, is finally facing the consequences of years of dodgy deals.

Like a lot of freelancers, I’m struggling for work right now. My inbox has nothing in it but tumbleweeds.
If anyone needs a B2B copywriter to provide some support (long term or project-based), please do give me a shout.
Retweets are v welcome.
@SwindonLitFest This was the first Festival of Literature I’ve attended, and it was such a brilliant week. It was such a treat to giddily decide which event I would attend this day and that. Swindon is richer for having this festival, so thanks to everyone who makes it possible, especially Matt
Anybody else love that feeling when you're in the last 50-100 pages of a long book and your brain goes into ultra-read mode and your eyes don't leave the pages until the book is finished
Excited to watch a flash fiction competition tonight as part of @SwindonLitFest
Shortest story I’ve written has been 1000 words, and that’s always a struggle. Looking forward to see how people manage to create great stories in under 500
Today, I was also grateful to hear @rachelparris talk about her book "Advice from Strangers". There was a lot of laughter and even more thoughtful head-nodding. Anyone who's seen mash report knows how funny and poignant she is, and that shone today, both in her talk and excerpts
It was a great event, and am looking forward to reading his book. The overwhelming feeling in the crowd was pride in our town, which was really special. Of course, there was great discussion of politics, class and social mobility, as well. A very valuable time. Thanks Steve
Another day of @SwindonLitFest another set of authors! Today Steve Rayson talked about "Badgeland" and what it was like as a socialist in 1980s UK. An event that was apparently too left wing for the central library and had to be moved. It is the CENTRAL library after all, I guess
It is the dawn of the 20th Century, and an American woman has been struck overboard into a perilous sea. Just as death looms, something beautiful approaches.
A WLW/sapphic self-discovery story written for a Flash Fiction contest with the theme “Mermaids”.

Had a fantastic time at @SwindonLitFest
today. Got to hear @IsabelHardman @CumbriaPR and @TravelscribeUK talk about their books and was thrilled to get a chance to ask some questions. Can't wait to dive into these books. Excellent start to the festival!
