@isfjcutebear I don't hate anyone based on beliefs they were brought up to believe. I hate walls built to separate people into different classes. I hate ideologies that prioritize one group of people over another. I hate warmongering crimes against humanity perpetrated in the name of religion
France is experiencing a glimpse of what its colonial history has been doing to other countries for years.
A couple of days ago, historical French jewellery was stolen from Le Louvre (one of the most famous museums in the country).
It created a national concern, with a deployment of resources to find those pieces.
While has a French national I feel disheartened about having a piece of history being stolen and truly hope they can find it intact, I can’t help but reflect on the history of colonialism the country carries. In 2025, France still possesses thousands of historical and cultural artefacts, art, paintings from several countries including Algeria, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Mali, Ethiopia, and Chad (and more).
Seven years ago, a promise was made to restitute those to their countries, but somehow, not much has been done since.
So when I read the news about French jewellery being stolen, it just reminds me how much the country itself has stolen from others too.
Happy Diwali, I wrote this one in Punjabi as that's the language the majority of my fans speak on TikTok. Also marking the passage of C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) and C/2025 R2 (SWAN) https://t.co/pXwrkjQ71I
