TikTok users for example are looking at other social media platforms in the interim, not a decentralized web. We would too. Reach will always come before censorship concerns.

In fact, TikTok is by the far the biggest and I doubt the ban will last. Censorship would need to happen daily for it to matter. A fully decentralized browser would also be necessary.

I think Handshake must offer something more. In 2025 censorship isn't a big enough concern to most internet users.

Idk if TikTok is an example of extreme censorship, but until we see North Korea levels HNS probably doesn’t solve anything. After all, there is tons of censorship already in China and Russia and we don’t see strong efforts for a dweb in ether country.

I like the idea of a decentralized internet, but as of now all it solves is the price of hefty domain renewals.
