In the debates on double or single blind reviewing and arXiv, I remember this excellent study, which concluded "single-blind reviewing confers a significant advantage to papers with famous authors and authors from high-prestige institutions" https://t.co/IhMReC38EP
Interesting #INTERSPEECH2023 paper (I think ;-)) on using MOS scores vs side-by-side preference tests when comparing TTS systems.
How to choose? Is one more robust/sensitive than the other?
Ever wondered about that? Here is the paper:

I've been elected as a fellow of the International #Speech Communication Association (#ISCA).
Huge thanks to my colleagues & collaborators who have taught me so much & #Google which has given me opportunities to work on real-world problems.

OMG, I am stuck in a loop... I just keep on playing these two songs, one after the other, again and again, and I can't stop....

@alex_omari1 Yes, sure. So I absolutely know what it's like go through a paper to see where space can be saved!
One thing I noticed, BTW... funnilly, there is a lot of whitespace in the figures usually. So, in fact, there actually _is_ plenty of room to accommodate bigger font size.
Dear authors of ***ALL*** papers I have been reviewing lately...
Could you please increase the font size in your figures?!
You might want to use the size of the characters in main text as a reference.
๐๐ Thank you!! ๐๐

@arjenpdevries@ReviewAcl What I really think we need btw is more conferences. The NLP has grown immensely (which is great) but the number of top tier NLP conferences has stayed the same. So... that naturally leads to the situation we find ourselves in, is my idea...
@arjenpdevries@ReviewAcl I think it's just a matter of too many submissions? I have 5 papers assigned to me. That's just a bit much (with 2 weeks left).
Good news: the timeline has shifted so reviewers have more time for reviews. There will be emails sent out, but the new deadline for reviewing is ***Dec 27th.***
@tmorello Because of you (well & some other reasons ;-)), I recently started playing a (single coil) Telecaster โ whereas previously I would only consider Les Pauls (humbuckers!).
This is the result:

Thank you @tmorello, for being such an inspiration to us all!
