15 years ago, Tom Smith & Tucker Mullin turned unimaginable adversity into a mission.
After 3 spinal cord injuries & a one-in-a-million recovery, they launched @tesfoundation to ensure people living with SCI have the access & support they deserve, while continuing to drive prevention efforts for the future.
This #SCIAwarenessMonth follow along as we reflect, share, and invite you to take action in expanding access, supporting prevention, and redefining whatโs possible. ๐๐

Yesterday, our co-founder and namesake @TommyESmith completed his 7th @bostonmarathon since being paralyzed multiple times. Alongside our friend, Bill Richard of @TeamMR8 , and Brian (BK) McCarthy, who walked the race with Thomas to raise funds for TESF.
Together, Thomas and BK raised over $150,000 for our mission to better the lives of those with affected by paralysis.
And the best part? The finish line.
Thomas, BK, and Bill were surrounded by our incredible supporters, family and friends. The energy we shared together made that moment even more #unforgettable.
Whether you cheered us on in person or supported us from afar, thank you for helping make this experience so special for Tom, BK, Bill and our entire team.
Your energy and presence at that finish line were what truly made the day one we will never forget ๐๐๐

Our co-founder and namesake, @TommyESmith, is the first person in medical history to experience three separate, unrelated, paralyzing spinal cord injuries (SCI).
Today, we are proud to share a glimpse of his remarkable journey in the second teaser from our upcoming video series.
Thomas' 16+ year journey with SCI and paralysis is a powerful testament to the strength of #community, #resilience, and the critical role #access plays in recovery.
If this clip resonates with you, please like, comment, and share it with your network. Your support helps us spread awareness and make a lasting impact on the lives of those affected by SCI and paralysis.
Thank you for being part of our mission ๐ ๐

Yesterday, we attended the Annual SCI Awareness Month Proclamation and Presentation on #SCIAwareness Day at the Massachusetts State House.
We enjoyed connecting with all the participants, and were so #inspired to learn about some of the groundbreaking research happening across MA, with the aim and hope of improving the lives of individuals impacted by SCI/D.
Special thanks to Dr. Eric Ruby and Massachusetts Walks Again for facilitating such a meaningful discussion between the various state officials and members of our community that were all in attendance ๐ ๐

Today, we are excited to share NESN's recent sports spotlight of our 14th Annual Golf Tournament: https://t.co/Tz5pvvI3TA
While highlighting an incredible day of golf with our supporters, friends, and family, this spotlight also provides an overview of TESF's history, our cause, and the impact we've had as an organization over the last 14 years.
"We're at this infection point - for 14 years we were a volunteer-led organization, trying to do as best we could with a handful of fundraisers throughout the year. The path from here is on an upward trajectory. From an organizational standpoint - we want to hire more people, we want to grow, we want to keep going, and for it not be this volunteer effort anymore... because that's what people (living with paralysis) need" - TESF co-founder, Tucker Mullin
Special thanks to all our sponsors, participants, volunteers, and to @nesn, Moody Street TV, & @KechesLaw for your continued support of The Thomas E. Smith Foundation!
