Reading some of the Lit classics that I have missed, for whatever reason. Was going great until -
“Of Mice and Men”
Holy moly, why did Steinbeck want to hurt me like that?
Can you confidently say to Christ, “Where you go I will go”?
Can you declare, “Though the way ahead is unfamiliar and unpopular, still I will follow”?
If you can’t, the first step is accepting that this sort of heart is Jesus’ will for you.
A man is saved because Christ died for him, he continues saved because Christ lives for him.
The sole reason why the spiritual life abides is because Jesus lives.

“I’m wandering about; I don’t know where I’m going.”
Jesus is the way.
“I’m confused; I don’t know what to think. “
Jesus is the truth.
“I’m dead inside and don’t know if I can go on. “
Jesus is the life
You can’t be fully devoted to both God and your stuff. You’ve got to decide which one you’re going to be most devoted to. Your worries focus on what you are most devoted to.
If there is going to be reconciliation in your life, you are going to have to take the axe of grace and cut down the tree of bitterness and resentment.
Legalistic preaching starves faith but feeds the flesh, which when well-nourished always overpowers the repression of sin. It also gives the appearance of being a fierce opponent of sin while creating a context where sin is nourished, and its spread and growth is inevitable.
In Christ, your life should be a poetic statement of God’s glory. The master artisan designs each of our lives to join and interlock to create a big picture, a giant living tapestry, woven of people.
Are you too busy to interact with the people around you, let alone engage with their struggles? It is understandable, but consider this:
Jesus wasn’t.
He always made time for other people…and He had a way more important job and much more to do.
