Someone needs to remind John Methu that he’s in his early 30s, not 60!
He’s a Senator representing Nyandarua County, bana—at least give us that young, sharp Senator look!

The Senate Standing Committee on Lands, Environment and Natural Resources today visited Nairobi River to appraise themselves with the challenges affecting the Nairobi River ecosystem.
The committee was led by Muranga County, Senator, Hon. Joe Nyutu and nominated Senators; Hon. Karen Nyamu (Vice Chair), Hon. Beatrice Ogolla and Hon. Peris Tobiko. They were accompanied by NEMA technical officers led by Director Environmental Enforcement, Dr. Ayub Macharia. The Committee identified riparian encroachment and sewerage discharge as the main challenges affecting the Nairobi River.
NEMA informed the Committee of the ongoing effort in management of solid waste through implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Regulations, 2024 that will eventually reduce the waste getting into dumpsite. In addition, the Authority has stopped various illegal discharges points into the River.

Government leaders already sound like they believe 2027 is won. When CS Aden Duale says Ruto will get more votes than in 2022, the question is: Is this confidence based on reality on the ground, or just political messaging?
