Landscape conservation ; steered by history; I love railways; am steeped in Anglicanism and troubled by injustice. I don’t necessarily support re-posts.
Once again, despite Inspectors recommending AGAINST approval (The Examining Authority recommends that the Secretary of State should withhold consent for the reasons set out), @Ed_Miliband has approved the 'One Earth Solar Project' on farmland in Lincs. https://t.co/6iI4BQ2m16
Oil & gas, steel, refining, agriculture - all on a watchlist after the Government voted through the 7th Carbon Budget.
Labour’s plans mean we will import more, produce less and be poorer for it - all in the hope that others will copy us.
🤷♀️They think "climate leadership" is reducing our DOMESTIC emissions…while importing the same products with the same or more emissions from overseas.
Went to see wildlife-friendly Suffolk #farmer Patrick Barker @The_Barker_Boys today, to learn more about what drives his passion for farmland wildlife recovery, and was promptly rewarded by a singing #turtledove at one of his 32 ponds. Fabulous!
While dams can benefit society, they also cause considerable harm to rivers. Dams have depleted fisheries, degraded river ecosystems, and altered recreational opportunities on nearly all of our nation’s rivers.

In case you didn't know: this famous proverb means that a single positive event/small sign doesn't guarantee lasting success or permanent improvement. The saying refers to Aesop's fables where a young man carelessly sells his winter coat after spotting the 1st swallow in spring.
@fbuner Wonderful! Their return is precious & so lovely to watch and hear. Recently we rebuilt our old house from the ground up and this year we have: 5 house martin nests and for the first time ever, a pair of swifts…(2 pairs of swallows in the barn we have had all the while: lucky us)
Another horrific proposal

@adriawildlife Ah! Lovely! - I fear so - though with some effort we can still have a reasonable host - a bit later in the year in the right weather. But not the whirling wonder you posted!
@LBFlyawayhome Another “childhood formative” this one - the lightning and the dark slate rolling nimbus were exactly like our Norfolk thunderstorms when I was 3-4…. I think I see the world through Tunnicliffe eyes even now…
@LBFlyawayhome Blissful Exmoor… and where the famous ‘overland launch’ of the lifeboat happened in 1899, I think. There’s a very good children’s novella based upon it.
I visited a farmer friend in the Wessex Downs who took over the management of an estate 5 years ago. Admiring his impressive wildlife habitats along pristine crops I asked him: 'How did you manage to transform this place so dramatically? He replied: ' You taught me, remember?' ☺️
