I don’t think they actually do.

No United player leaves and becomes important for a bigger club. They all end up in worse, slower leagues where it’s so much easier to play, that’s why it looks like they succeed.

At United, you get micro-analysed. At other clubs, your poor performances go under the radar and you get hyped when you score.
