Le ministre des Sports du Maroc 🇲🇦, Mohammad Saad Berrad, a déclaré que le Maroc participe à la Coupe du Monde pour représenter le Maroc, et non l'Afrique. Selon lui, l'équipe nationale concourt avant tout pour représenter le Maroc, et non l'Afrique dans son ensemble.

M. Berrad a affirmé que chaque pays a la responsabilité de défendre ses intérêts nationaux, son honneur et son identité lorsqu'il participe à des compétitions internationales.

Le ministre des Sports a également déclaré que le Maroc n'a pas besoin du soutien de l'Afrique.
