Two weeks later, they ran into each other again.
This time, the woman stopped her first.
They started talking, and somehow the mall incident came up.
The woman laughed and said, “That day? I didn’t even see you. I was rushing because my mum was in the hospital.”
My friend just stood there.
All that overthinking… for nothing. 😭
My friend told me she greeted someone she knew at the mall, but the woman walked past without responding.
She was so embarrassed that she spent the next 10 minutes saying, “She definitely heard me.”
I told her, “Maybe she didn’t.”
She wasn’t convinced.
Some people know exactly what they want to say…
…and then panic when someone says:
“Okay, tell me about it.” 😂
Speaking practice matters.

One public-speaking habit I wish more people would practise:
Pause!
You don’t have to fill every second with “umm,” “so,” “you know,” or “actually.”
A short pause can make you sound more confident than speaking faster ever will.
Try it in your next conversation.
One of the most underrated career skills is knowing how to communicate clearly.
Being brilliant doesn’t help much if nobody understands what you’re saying.
Do you agree?
