Someone's reaction to the #BarbieMovie is the perfect indicator of who is truly an independent thinker and who is indoctrinated into an ideology when it comes to how we portray both sexes in popular culture in 2023.
This may shock some but #Barbie is not the far left, woke, propaganda-fest so many American conservatives claim it is. Neither is it the opposite.
It's actually very South Park-esque in its approach. It takes the piss out of all extremist viewpoints, on both sides. It's what woke people would describe as transphobic yet one of the Barbies is trans. It's what misogynists would describe as misandrist yet showcases misandry as being just as real as misogyny. It's what classic feminists would describe as anti-motherhood while defending the fact that it's okay to want to be a mother despite what libfems would have you believe.
Essentially, it's telling you that patriarchy doesn't work and that the answer isn't matriarchy either. It's telling you that liberal feminism doesn't work because actual feminism is about equality, not supremacy. It's telling you that the real world isn't as black and white as "males rule everything" or "males ought to rule nothing".
It's centrist and smart. And everyone who hates it for supposedly being woke or loves it for supposedly being woke isn't centrist enough nor smart enough to understand it.
And that's the point.
@bbceurovision Baby Bonnie, 11 weeks old and LOVING her first @bbceurovision we take it very seriously in this house, although the drinking games will be milk based this year 😂
It's a good time to remember that the Chairman of the BBC is Richard Sharp, someone who's donated £400,000+ to the Conservatives and helped Boris Johnson with an £800,000 loan.
Let's remember that when they talk about BBC "impartiality".

Matt Hancock isn’t a ‘celebrity’, he’s the former health secretary who oversaw the UK having one of the highest death tolls in the world from Covid-19 whilst breaking his own lockdown rules.
