About the DEF (cluez)

1. Born and raised in WEST VIRGINIA
2. Arrested three times before I was eighteen. My last probation officer warned me that it gets more complicated when you turn 18. Not so great an outcome. I NEVER LOOKED BACK. I Fess up that I have spoken to a couple as they handed me speeding tickets over time.

I am 54!!

3. I have been able to write songs on command ever since I walked the aisle with my grandmother at a tent revival.

4. My father served jail time for drugs, lost his job, struggled as a convicted felon, went through a divorce with my mother as I was turning 13.

5. My mother moved in with an older black man in a time when racism was very rampant. Even though I was the only white kid in an all black neighborhood for 6 years, God blessed me with diversity, culture, great friends who would fight for me..... and as a 15 year old alcoholic with severe acne.... CRAZY GOOD TIMES.

I walked into an all black party one night and as soon as I cut the corner into the crowd, someone yelled "Hey, VANILLA ICE!

It was on from there, because my generated " "brain spit" moved from rock, metal, motown, gospel, Baptist hymnal, to street hip hop, parachute pants and a new way to bring my songs to life.
