1-0 drop at NAIC with Joltik Box. I explained in a previous post, but @M_LesagePTCG had a medical issue come up mid round, and I dropped as soon as I found out to take care of her and Camille. She is feeling much better now; it was likely dehydration or heat exhaustion.

I felt really good about the list into the metagame, and plenty of cool stuff like Volc ex. I appreciate @Kiwihanna16 for helping with the list, and Michele for inspiring me to bring it to the event. It might be a “simple” deck, but it is incredibly effective in this metagame, and there are micro decisions that happen each turn - I felt good piloting it.

I’ve had a great time hanging out with many awesome members of the community, @TheShuffleSquad, and making the most of this trip. Since entering parenthood earlier this season, I’ve learned that perspective is everything - I love Pokemon, travelling, my friends, my team, and I’m not gonna let this drop get me down. I would’ve done it again if I had to, and absolutely zero regrets - family comes first.

I still have my invite for the 2025 World Championships, I have the respect of many in the community, and the respect of my family. As much as I would’ve loved to add another potential Day 2 to my Limitless page or brought this deck to the top tables (shhhh… Raging Bolt can’t hurt me), it happens. I appreciate all of the support from everyone, and just know I’m going back to the lab for Worlds - I want to be the best player I can be! I hope to see many of y’all there!

Today was the last day for Cups / Challenges in the 2024-2025 season, so I wanna reflect on my locals stats and some of the cool decks I played along the way!

This season has been unique because I moved from the Toronto area to Montreal and had a new local scene to discover! I also joined the Poke-Dad club in September, and yes it’s true, parents get a 10% luck boost at locals (I don’t make the rules). I’ve made some awesome new friends, found some cool stores, and really love being part of this new community!

The 2025-2026 season should start in July which means I can start the grind again 💪

Just finished booking everything for the 2025 Pokemon World Championships!

Anaheim is special to me for a few reasons because it’s where I earned my first trip to Worlds back in 2006, I advanced to Day 2 going undefeated in 2017, and it was the first Regionals that @M_LesagePTCG and I attended together as a couple in 2018. Now it’s the first time Camille experiences Worlds at a very young 11 months old!

Time to lock in, and do the best I can! Last year I lost my win-and-in to Top 8 Worlds in Honolulu, and I’m hoping to make it this year!
