@ShipBeer@gWiLiKeRzZz@DevineGospel It’s worth noting most infield fly’s are still caught. I can’t remember a time it’s been in effect that it didn’t land in a glove. The baserunners, or fielders away from the play, are the ones who need to see it called.
@coach_lopapen@gWiLiKeRzZz@DevineGospel “An infield fly is any fair fly ball (not including a line drive or a bunt) which can be caught by an infielder with ordinary effort
The umps didn’t deem it ordinary effort and as such, infield fly wasn’t called.
Hope this helps.
@MethodISMyMdnss@acdadon@KutterIsKing It wasn’t pitch count it was matchups. Fried stayed in the handle the lefty in Duran, Weaver was brought in to handle the right handed bats.
@TristansTrash@EdHand89 Chapman working out to the level that it did still amazes me. I can’t imagine Craig was expecting a career year from a 37-year-old.
@EWints@EdHand89 Some intangibles to think about too: the energy shifted in the aftermath of the trade. Case could be made that Raffy was so annoyed at the DH/1B/front office drama that he was dragging the clubhouse down with him.
@cos_mia@ChrisCotillo I like the responses to this being “huh?!?” Sox go as the bats go. The pitching hasn’t been a huge problem, it’s the inconsistency of the hitters. When the offense is clicking the team wins 10 straight. When it’s not, you see stretches like this.
@AmoneyResists Moreover, McConnell changed the rules to make it 51 votes instead of 60 so Republicans could easily confirm Trump’s picks for the Supreme Court.
BREAKING: Marcus Smart has agreed to a contract buyout with the Washington Wizards and intends to sign a two-year, $11 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers after clearing waivers, sources tell ESPN. A return to a grand stage for the 2022 NBA Defensive Player of the Year.
@TroyA09126438@DPalmerRI@leodagrinchi@Tatums0Burner@Spkoli2 I land in between. I love Al, think he was a great player for us, but don’t think he’s quite at the level to retire 42. I feel like he and Rondo have similar cases. Both really beloved players on teams that could’ve won more, but neither were ever the star and that’s fine.
@W0lfSzn0@lukabetter77_@KeithSmithNBA True and true. Jrue is valuable and still worth his money. But the C’s are trying to shed contracts in a year that you could argue they aren’t contenders.
Jaylen will be the 1 and Simmons may be the 2 and we’ll see where it takes us in a wide open east, but we want less payrole
