This incident happened in Taichung, Taiwan (central Taiwan), in early July 2022 (around July 1), at a KTV (karaoke club).

It wasn’t the elderly man’s “sons” or family members who intervened — it was a group of acquaintances/friends who were at the same venue (some working upstairs). They saw the bullying on CCTV or were called down and rushed in to defend the older man.

Key details from reports at the time:

•The young man (surnamed Hu) got angry when the elderly man accidentally hit the close button as Hu and his companions tried to enter the elevator.

•Hu harassed and pushed the older man in the elevator and continued in the lobby.

•The beatdown happened in the lobby after more men arrived.

•Everyone involved (including Hu) was taken to the police station, but no one pressed charges. Hu had only minor injuries. The interveners may have faced minor administrative penalties.

The video has circulated for years (often mislabeled as happening in China or involving family), but the original news coverage confirms the Taiwan KTV location and 2022 date.
